For this genre, I think the best one I have seen so far other than legend of SL which I think is a fantasy as opposed to the genre is actually love under the divine tree now that’s a proper happy ending. Here yes they fell short, but I think the OE is not bad at all. It could’ve been so much worse. That’s so many dramas in the genre have fallen pray too.

A non-villain drama that’s cute she plays SFL is Brilliant Class 8; it’s a low budget modern but the second leads carried the show and they’re so cute. Def a recommendation.

Added to watchlist; don’t think I’ve seen him in a modern ever unless it’s a variety show lol.

So what if she’s a mom and a wife? Again she’s not property and that is her job. There are plenty of actors and actresses that are married with kids in China that do romantic scenes with their costars and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it.

What’s wrong with her age? She’s 41 he’s 34. That’s not a large age difference in real life; and in the dramas, she’s thousands of years older than him. And what do you mean by how could her husband let her? She’s not his property. This is her job.

Honestly, I feel like the ending was more OE. So subject to interpretation. I think there were a lot of flaws, but I do feel that she will return and I think that all of the spirit weapons return to life as well because they are alive only if he’s alive and he is so there you go. Also, I think that they were walking us to that ending from 35. He knew when he returned back to his normal self that he was going to lose her at some point. I think they traveled together for a few years (just as SML was traveling for a few years in writing letters to SFL. They could no longer be together because her immortality card was up, but at least they had that). So they were given that time before she finally turned into blue little lights and poofed. And you could tell in episode 36 that she was not doing too well and he knew it too. She said a proper goodbye to him, but then when that God dude showed up and he also said that oh she could be a plant a butterfly or this or that; I think given her promise to come back to him, she will come back to him because she left a little bit of spirit in the world plus other little things; like the divine power she gave him plus that lotus thing that her master gave him that allowed him to return to his body and kill the demon and she will grow from that. It’ll probably take a few decades if not centuries, but I think she will return in human form as opposed to a bird. I will still definitely have to think about this review and when I can write it. But overall, I can’t say that I hated the ending. Obviously wish that both couples had a happy ending and all of our spirit weapons were around and what not, but this was much better than the staring at each other from 10 feet away and not hugging in the last five seconds of the series. 8/10 from me.

But maybe they were talking about their six months traveling. That they traveled for six months who knows what they did for the few years beforehand.

It seems the letter of SML to SFL that a few years have passed because he’s gone traveling around the world in her footsteps so even though they didn’t quite give us a time jump I think that’s it. And we got two hugs one and 35 and one and 36 so let’s get to this ending everyone is upset about.

That’s it? That’s the villain? Lots of talk very little action and then as soon as ML returns after FL broke her oath, just fizzles away? I think he was more threatening when he was floating around in heaven.

Yeah, I do remember that scene. I also don’t remember where it was or who said it. Probably one of the stupid elders or something. When you talk too much and are in front of a very capable person you’re out of luck.
