I’ve actually only noticed the hairpin stabbing thing from last year‘s dramas prior to that I haven’t seen that as a general trope. The other two though yes, very popular and seems that not one drama can do without one or the other or the combination of the two.

I think hes as fixated as princess in red. Except she’s just rude and condescending. But he’s also killing the people that he should be allying with.

But instead of dealing with it, he’s killed an ally and turned on his best friend; he’s not leader material.

The chancellor guy from her country is somehow responsible for the death of ML‘s parents. Using the Xi guy and death warriors or whatever they’re called. Because he had a blueprint of that crossbow with a particular marking. In future episodes, I think he’s also the one who sent the message to Xi guy about the identity of FL to pass onto ML to get rid of her. Probably killed the maid to frame her. ML shouldn’t have told the king FL’s identity or part of it but it doesn’t seem like he’s the one imprisoning her or doubting her. So those are my theories.

Ok so from the one episode I got a theory; below in spoilers:

Stabbing w/hairpins and cliffs yep! The last two years those have been the rave, to add to the spitting up magenta blood lol.

But we don’t know how much of the novel will be actually translated into the drama. You’re giving what the novel is saying. We have not seen a lot of of what’s going on like her being thrown into prison or tortured or blamed by him or any of that. On top of that his marriage to the other princess is a royal decree so how can he refuse until he has gathered power. He has already promised his heart obviously things take time. Plus the death of her family. Her family is not dead. Her father is unconscious yes but she still got two sisters that we saw in the trailer, her reuniting with. So there’s obvious deviation from the book.

Why hurt him with a fake death? Sure jump, go home and fix whatever but don't make him think you're dead. The man has given her his heart, body, trust and soul. She's maybe given half.

I agree, but you never know who will betray you. Especially someone who’s not thinking or looking at the big picture.

I like this drama for the slice of life teenage thing, but I wish they focused more on the kids and not the adults. It seems like the adults are overtaking the series.

By the time ML realizes it’s him he has already I think across the point of no return.

So this drama will also have a cliff diving event where someone survives?

He’s in love and that’s the only thing he’s thinking of. Not the big picture overall.
