He’s actually not a villain from someone who looked at their script. Apparently he was tricked or lied to you about joining that camp for other reasons I guess to save his mom or something, but his affection toward the group is real and he does admire ZYC the most. But he does get used a lot by team evil especially LL since they’re both in some way shape or form tree demons.
