The one thing I really find cool though is how the captain can in his brain, reconstruct peoples movements or how a crime happened. And we get to see it in black-and-white.
After the first few episodes, I only watch or focus on crime cases only. I skip almost everything not related…
The thing is is that the leads are in it for the drugs and the whatever I can watch them and I can watch the interactions of other people, but that chick and now SYL is just whining all the time and nosy as hell. I wish the captain would just shut him up and say mind your own business. I don’t know. This is what happens when you stick someone who’s never been undercover to do just that and people around him don’t know that that’s what he’s doing. Maybe if the captain told SYL that he’s undercover with this chick or whatever then he would leave him alone at least with the stupid questioning. The other thing is the transitions between drugs and regular homicide and cases are just so abrupt and jarring the editing, and the continuity went to hell in a hand basket for this drama.
Did one of those dudes watching the surveillance say something but his mouth didn’t move? 😆 the editing, even on the kiss scene is very, not quite great; the continuity between when they see them kiss on the surveillance to the rest of it not very smooth. Like how many times did she go in for the kiss on the wall? It’s like the surveillance portion sees it before it really happens or something. And ML definitely needs more facial expressions; the woman tossed him on the bed and he didn’t as much as blink. And then they were wrestling on the floor and it was like show something. You’re not a wall decoration. You can be stoic but not completely expressionless 😑 all the time. Unless the plan is to explain that later whether she’s a CI or not because I could have sworn they gave each other eye signals in the bathroom in the mirror. And wouldn’t she know if his uncle was really the chief of narcotics if they’ve known each other for so long? So that was interesting and lending credence to the fact that she is a CI. Plus is the surveillance on the bed or the window or both? It’s a bit confusing unless the window was for the cops to look into?
Edit: Forgot to put before; these are all my guesses and musings….in regards to what I see.
SFL is insufferable and she walks, talks, pouts, and cries like a 5 year old; horrible character. Like for YEARS she’s been hounding this poor guy who hasn’t ever shown her the slightest interest and has turned her down repeatedly. She’s telling him to move on? Pot calling the kettle black. Girl quit stalking the damn guy; the desperate look is ridiculous. This drama was filmed 3 years ago so I guess back then sticking this much crap into a crime thriller was popular. I understand the need to show their lives outside of work but not like this. Captain with his father is understandable, the canteen owners and living despite losing their son, also understandable. SYL needs to find a hobby that’s not this chick. It’s fine to care about someone but not to the point of obsession. Still with the abrupt transitions, most likely due to censorship but just hard to deal with. There’s a lot they don’t show us too, especially with the undercover case but I don’t know how ML was totally fine despite getting that drug 2 or 3 times; like the next day off on a new case. Never heeds his Shifu’s advice about making sure he’s okay by going to the hospital for a check up; it’s not like he’s used to being undercover in narcotics as he’s not in that division. A lot doesn’t add up or make sense. And we still don’t know if CYM is good or bad. I guess keep watching and pray for answers.
