They do talk about wood a lot, which makes my gutter mind go somewhere completely different.
They talk about wood like it's normal and we are here just snickering like little squirrels.

I found it quite funny tho... Chinese drama can always use 'unique' way to put their patriotism and nationalism…
I don’t think it had anything to do with censorship actually because romance dramas without any propaganda pass with flying colors. Even those the talk about certain industries have no problem so I really do not know or understand what the issue was sticking that into that lecture. As I was telling the person above, the dude was supposed to talk about an industry to a bunch of university students who are going to forget about the entire lecture probably by the day after tomorrow. These are not folks that are graduating and going straight into the workforce. These are folks attending a lecture, probably that their professor told them to attend. So to throw something like this true or false into a speech about an industry feels like the screenwriter ran out of stuff to write about the industry. Instead of doing propaganda, mumbo-jumbo, they could’ve talked more about the history of the industry in their country. That would’ve been a shit ton more interesting to listen to both students and us the audience then what we had to listen to. And obviously they didn’t even do the entire lecture afterwards. They just glossed over with some BGM and then lecture over. So what the heck was the point of it? I myself was born in a nationalistic, communist/socialist country that no longer exists, though the fact that it split into 15 republics, some of them still fly that same kite; my birth country included to a degree sadly. So I’m not new to this stuff but I know when it’s I guess the word would be appropriate when you know that this is the type of drama that you’re supposed to see and I know when it’s inappropriate, which is in this case.

I also found that lecture really strange. It felt like it was trying to force real-life trading and business politics…
I completely agree. If it has anything to do with propaganda in a drama like you know from the get-go, it’s going to go there you push it aside and you just watch whatever but in a drama like this to just chuck it in it just felt so unnatural. People are comparing to you are my glory. Yes but their the ML was a scientist in astrophysics and they were sending rockets into space so obviously the space program it’s a national pride type of thing so you expect that type of stuff and propaganda and nationalistic stuff there but here it’s a little different so to have that it was just weird and it felt like an add-on or something.

I can’t stop rewatching the ending banquet portion starting with her telling her uncle she was going to go over there or that they should go over there and he was like “no you go by yourself and surprise him, it would be no fun if I came along.” He’s like the biggest shipper at that banquet. 🤣 But I keep re-watching that portion until the end, it’s just too good!!!! I think it’s my favorite in the entire two episodes. EEEEK!!!

Yeah, so do I, which is why I just found it bizarre and stupid. It was so completely unnecessary and they have done it in the series before like a little bit. Oh we shouldn’t rely on the outside world and we should make our own materials and the other countries are unreliable and they charge too much yada yada yada whatever you can just ignore that because it’s subtle it’s in conversation but when it’s in this whole lecture, it’s just too much and unnecessary.

he was basically talking about the industry to a bunch of students. And then all of a sudden it became a political lecture, and then at the end he went back to end we will prosper under the sun like it made literally zero sense to stick that whole entire thing into the middle of that lecture. If you’re talking about an industry stick to talking about that industry and what your own country is doing with that industry, leave the rest of the world out of it.

I love how at the banquet even the uncle was pissed off at the treatment of ML and spoke his mind. And he was like our couples biggest fan there; taking photos of them and sending to his wife who said ML’s grandpa had no taste🤣; this family has made it’s choice; they’ve all closed ranks around ML as well. I really like how ML just took her hand and as soon as he did that, the entire room gasped (they were already talking as soon as she walked across the room and listening in on their conversation so as soon as that happened, they literally stole the spotlight not even half of it) and first walked across the room to greet grandpa and introduce his girlfriend and then walked out to basically a parted sea of people. It’s a shame it was at the end of the episode and we have to see the rest of it tomorrow, but it was really great when she just strutted across that banquet floor like you are not going to screw around with my boyfriend. I think we met the other two grandkids one female one male they just stuck their names on the screen, but we didn’t actually talk to them. I hope one of them inherits the business. I think novel readers said it was the female one. Because the current supposed successor which grandpa doesn’t even think he is is as uncle said a narrowminded prick. Well, I added that last part. Can’t wait for tomorrow’s episode it’s going to be very sweet and we get our first kiss yay. Power couple in public is born!

The banquet scenes are epic. XG is so lucky to have this dreamboat in her life. I would love to hear her say,…
Yes, her going to the banquet was great. And she kicked most of that stupid family in the pants.

Communist countries like China always have some sort of nationalist pride to an extreme in their media... I agree…
I’m aware I was born in one though not that one. I was just not prepared for it so I couldn’t skip it. I figured it was just a regular lecture about you know their industry or something.

Most of the time it is actually just a mandatory part of a drama. Many Cdramas are co-produced by a certain industry,…
I understand that, but this drama is focused and centered around two people well three to count the hunk of junk and the progression of falling in love and what not. Yes the company and industries do come in here and there, but they’re not the main focus so when you toss something like that into it, it really just takes away from whatever else is going on. I’m totally cool with them talking about their company jobs and what they have to do and design of whatever garden thing she’s in charge of, but like don’t start crapping on other countries and then at the end of it say well we all live under the sun and we’re all going to prosper like the entire world and stuff it just makes the speaker look stupid.

i just skip all the boring technical stuff that has nothing to do with "drama"
I’m cool with like the work stuff and what not but propaganda and a drama like this was just unnecessary.

The last thing they needed to do is stick propaganda into this series and that’s episode 25 with that lecture by that old guy. About how Global countries were blocking their trade and calling it an old trick and how they were all the mighty China and how they would still be the top and all this other stuff. Like it’s very unnecessary; talk about the product, whatever it is but the entire speech very unnecessary. Only at the end did he say that all countries under the sun will prosper and so on and so forth I think they wanted to taper down whatever the first portion of the speeches. I think under the circumstances they shouldn’t have shown that much of the lecture.

But them spending time together, holding hands, her writing her name on her new “real estate”, and telling her mother and her cheesy cousin was cute and I absolutely love her mother. I’m coming to the end of 25 I know 26. We start the banquet at some point; looking forward to her strutting her stuff and the power walk holding hands. Plus meeting grandpa; I’m also guessing they have the forehead kiss today and the real kiss is tomorrow. Yay.

Weird, it's not outdoor. Wonder why there is no heat.
Yeah wondered the same. Maybe the filmed it in an un used building where there wasn’t any heat.
