Exactly. Love triangles I don't mind unless they get Uber stalkerish, but this political power grab to just ramp up more then halfway through the series was what just made me go eek, slam on the breaks.

Thanks for the unneeded insult. I did mention I understand varying opinions; guess you missed that part.. I'm not Chinese but this isn't my first cdrama. Furthermore, I have read and written my share of novels and professional scripts including fan fiction. Plus am a published author, so yes I scrutinize dramas because I know what high quality looks like.

This is one really bizarre, twilight zone show. I wish SML had more scenes, he's literally the only reason I haven't dropped this mess.

I'm with you 💯 on all of that and that's why paused it. I will finish it once all episodes are out or ZWY is dealt with but really just needed a light hearted rom-com and that's just not what it turned out to be. I also don't understand how or why desperate, friend-zoned, evil BFF is desirable, bleh.

Yep SML is an a-hole. Friendly competition I understand, but we already know he's a loser that kills ppl that are against his plans. There's obviously some story of his involvement or those ppl's in SQ's brother's death. According to some spoilers the forced marriage is in episode 23 or 24 and so is YYZ being whipped for trying to stop it. But other spoilers show the main couple getting married too, so who the heck knows. No one needed the politics in this thing to get so strong more then halfway through the show.

And this is why I stopped watching the drama at ep 17 until the rest of the episodes come out. I'd rather know what's going on and if I need to skip before I go anywhere. If they were going to make it political, they should have started it that way from the beginning not more then halfway through. I was looking for an easy rom-com while I wait for series stuck in limbo to release, I am very disappointed in this. And it's score will reflect accordingly when I finish it.

I paused watching at episode 17 because the SML is a murdering douchebag and I'm going to wait for it to get closer to the end before I watch again. Plus palace politics, was hoping this drama would just be an easy rom-com w/out all of that extra garbage. If anyone has any spoilers for episodes coming up, please share. I love spoilers. Thanks! 😊

So all of this will turn into some political battle? Considering I'm hoping for a happy ending, I truly hope this won't turn into one of those dramas where all of the riddles get solved in the last episode. It's been such a lighthearted drama so far, would suck to stick some power for the throne or something into it.

Who cares what other ppl think? Watch for yourself and decide. I wasn't going to watch it at first as I'm not a fan of any of its stars but the trailers drew me in. This is why we have our own individual minds and opinions; we're not collective robots. Douban isn't a reliable rating site worth a damn.

All of the trailers are pointing to him being evil. Or at least controlled by evil ppl. I wonder how long it'll take her to realize he's a total douchebag.
