I find it very hilarious that the real author is a fictional character in our world. A fictional character writing…
Why do you consider the female real author of fictional character too? I'd like to hear your ideas and opinions. We were having a discussion below in regards to all of this. So it's good to hear that someone else is sort of in the same wheelhouse.

ME TOO!!!😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
That's right I remember now. Thank you I'm horrible with names even dramas that I watch. I don't remember character names and then I end up giving them nicknames based on how they act lol.

Title A Dream within a Dream Spoiler
Okay, let me make it clear for you...Real world- Ep 40's chubby female actual screenwriter's scene is the ONLY…
By the way, did you notice that after the first ending and they all part in it, you know go backwards through the kingdom and then we see them pop out of the book or rather we do as viewers and blah blah blah, and then we go to the real screenwriter and she finishes, talks to the director walks away and then all of a sudden it backtracks there's a glitch over the trees matrix style as she walks away like the typing sounds used to be and she's going in reverse and her story is being deleted somehow at least the ending portion of it and we go back to historical the FL telling the ML that what if this script isn't called whatever story of something or other in Mandarin I couldn't pick up "but really ADWAD and that the awakening of all those people and changing their fates and everything that they have done is also part of the script, but it's named what we know it to be named as so what will we do?" (Paraphrasing here) And ML says then we will keep fighting for our fate until we die and that's the real ending of the historical portion before we get closing credits and then move on to modern world post credits. Does that also come from the real screenwriter or is it a dream an actual dream? Something else to think about. Because maybe the real screen writer a.k.a. the round woman is also part of some script, especially if this thing is a trilogy.

That whole portion is so trippy to me. Who's the fat screenwriter and she's a woman? In episode one we had a skinny…
You know, I said the same thing about his POB character. I am unsure if this is his best character for me personally, but I can see his improvement in each one. I think that, knowing that this was filmed after POB this was the last thing filmed I think I'm not sure about that modern drama though but he in historical has been making leaps and bounds in progression and it's like I can't wait for the next one I want something new some kind of different project. And honestly, I don't necessarily want it to be a historical. It could be a modern but not a romcom because that's the next one coming up or maybe it could be a romcom where his character is prominent not just part of the group I guess you could say that the next one looks like from the previews. But maybe other genres like crime, detective, army, profiler, firefighter, etc. something of that nature a little more gritty you know? So he can really show his versatility because yes in all of these historical dramas he's showing it because they're all different, but he needs different genres and I hope that directors are going to send him those types of scripts and not just historical and an occasional modern. About love will be his second I believe. Well ultimate note sort of was, but that was more tomb raidery something supernatural. Fingers crossed 🤞🏻.

Does it matter? when Both the Worlds are within a script...?
Everything is a theory at this point. But that's the beauty of it. We can discuss it. We can dissect it, and I think that was the whole point of the show is to make viewers talk and discuss and dissect. And to be completely honest from all of the theories that I've seen floating around while this whole thing was airing this one when you explained it in one of your last comments more thoroughly makes the absolutely most sense at least to me. I'm an author/novelist/writer myself so I know how to make things look so confusing you need a couple of days just to untangle the web. But I like your web or the theory that you created or thought about. So let's continue talking about it though I need to get some sleep because I barely did. Maybe we should create a discussion so we do not take up the comment section I don't know. People right now are going to be watching and finishing up and talking about it and maybe if we Started a discussion thread about this ending and start with your theory and the way you explained it to me in your last comment maybe we can get more people to think about it from a different perspective. Because isn't that the point?

That makes a little bit more sense. And also leads more credence to the fact that this is in fact a trilogy and also LYN said the same thing that it was one. Her scene being the only real scene is the real lake holy moly of this entire thing. May I ask where you first came up with this? Because no one else floated this entire thing around at all we all thought the ML also transmigrated and maybe the emperor did and all of that other stuff? I actually do like this idea. Maybe after some thought it'll clear the confusion and I still haven't watched the rest of the episodes to align my brain. I know I'm not the only one that's going to be asking you questions if they read your points. I don't know if production will reveal the truth about it, but I guess we will see. If this is in fact the truth, it is probably the most and well executed new type of way to write these sort of dramas modern to historical trans migration and what not. This would become ridiculously popular if other productions and writers jumped on this train though not to write the same exact thing, but to brainstorm off of this idea, if you get my drift. As a novelist myself, this is beyond interesting if this is true again. I would love for this to be true from a writer's standpoint and seeing so many of these transmigration or whatever dramas that all basically follow the same hamster wheel.

So I guess I had read correctly that in fact, it was a trilogy. I think he liked this character enough that he would return to it. The next portion is up to production and screenwriters to make happen to make the actors return. I mean, how can they film without a script right? Plus investors and all that other stuff. And they have to make sure that the cast is also available. LYN will be available after his concert because I think his album drops around the same time.

There are no direct links to the episodes just to the main show. Would that work for you?
I'm glad it worked for you! You are very welcome; enjoy the show!😊

Did it have a happy ending in the end? I don't think I can pick it up again from where I left off.
They left it to the viewers to decide and someone below has some theories that are just tripping me out even more. It would've had a happy ending regardless because this series is this platforms Love On series and those never ever end on an OE or an SE. That's just their rule. Every single series has an HE no matter how bad things look.

Yes, both script and modern world have a happy ending. You should definitely watch it. I don't know where you left off but it's worth the watch plus there's multiple deaths and then bringing back to life apparently.

Girl, every single time I read your thoughts and theories I get more and more confused. Because SXY had a world and a childhood and she even talked about the fact that her parents died when she was young while talking to SYM's mother's tablet and praying that SYM's mother meets her parents in heaven and so forth. She talked about something about her parents dying in a fire when she was a child. If these are parallel worlds, I don't even know what to say. I mean, how can they be parallel worlds if there's a script writer as you told me that wrote from episode one through episode 40 and that is her entire script so all and everything is not real it's in the script.

Whom he calls SYM.....so in reality or some reality neither NF nor SXY exist; it's always been NH and SYM. Just jumping from the modern world to ancient times and back. So based on what you're saying, she wrote a script that was so different from anything else that people have ever seen with transmigration and false reality plus characters within the historical dream waking up to be able to change their own fate and destiny so to speak. So the real world does technically exist, but our characters are all just characters. They don't exist in the real world of fat chick scriptwriter. So then, who are the actual actors that play these characters will they be the same? Because obviously we didn't see them just her finishing her whatever script and walking away talking to whomever director. Would that be considered correct?

Now I understand why LYN was so confused when he first read the entire script and didn't know if he would be able to portray the character properly, but decided to give it a shot anyways. Man must've been confused as hell lol!

Yeah, I know he's not doing anything this year especially with his concert coming up. I believe next month or in September and tickets selling out within seconds according to his domestic fans. He did say, though in a recent interview if an interesting script came along, he would look at it, but I think if anything he will probably film next year or Perhaps at the end of this year just because this one can't sit still or rest for more than a couple of days. I'm surprised he's able to film his current variety show where they are basically tourists in different countries and that requires resting and learning about the culture and going to museums and stuff. I really hope that if it is in fact a trilogy that it's the same cast because otherwise it will not make any sense whatsoever. And all of us who watched I don't think will be interested in a new cast. So let's hope that if this thing is a trilogy that everybody returns Except those who were killed so if there are villains which we know there will be it's not the same people or should I say person a.k.a. Darth Vader. And no more sadistic emperor or villain uncle. Two out of three are dead and the third one was rewritten I'm guessing. Even with his cheesy self at the end, I cannot. I just cannot after seeing the rest of the series give that dude a redemption arc. I'll just write them off as character rewritten, but otherwise, for the majority of the series a total sadist.

Jing dynasty world, you mean the script world? But you're talking about the real world and our FL's world in the same sentence as being a script world. But where the heck did this scriptwriter even come from? Did they fire the other one and get someone else? So if both worlds are script worlds, where is the real world? Or which one is the real world? I think that may actually be the name of my review at some point.😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

On A Dream within a Dream Jul 11, 2025
Does anyone else feel after watching episode 40 that they are on some LSD trip or some kind of drug trip and that their brain can't wrap itself around what is real and what is not real? I haven't watched the other episodes but just that one episode especially that ending I am so confused right now who's the real screenwriter? Why did they get rid of the dude with the glasses? Where did the fat screenwriter chick come from? Like what is going on? 😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫😵‍💫

I'm a little confused by your question. Are you talking about the little paragraph that I wrote below? If so, this show is part of a trilogy according to what the director and the screenwriters said when this thing was filming that this is part one and there are two more parts. Even when it translates on Weibo, it says something along the lines of book one dream or something.

Hear my thoughts after so much delebration.. NH is NF. 1. Ep 1 - NF never took sunglasses off. He was figidty…
I think that NF never existed. It was always our ML from the script or the historical script which ever. I mean, if you remember from episode one, her agent said that he was the one who requested her even though she was the absolute last actress that they wanted to bring on board. But he requested her so he probably already had feelings for her before any of this got started, but wanted to get her locked in and then catapult her into the script or something and start this whole crazy train that we were a part of. Those are my thoughts, even though I honestly think that I'm tripping on LSD at this point lol. But I do sometimes wonder, especially thinking about it all now if when they were in the script that he lost some of his memories he had to he couldn't pull all of that off if he was just playing along. There were definitely times when you knew that something was a little fishy about how quickly he seemed to understand things so I think those were the times when his memories were still intact. I still haven't finished this just watched episode 40 because that's how I finish shows starting from the last episode and then going back and watching from whatever it is 35 of course I need to get spoiled first by whomever watches whatever first and then I go and watch the last episode. That is how weird I am. And I do not apologize for it lol.
