How would his uncle be a better father figure when he wanted to take away everything and everyone that ML loved and loves? Plus look how many people he killed for what? So his nephew would be a constant target and be wrongly accused for shit he did? I wouldn’t want a father like that if they paid me trillions of dollars. When it comes to father figures sadly our ML had two complete incompetent losers. One was a sadist, and one was a vile villain, who thought nothing but his own greed. He never gave a shit about his own sister who he sent into the palace it turns out just to further his own career and he never gave a shit about his son either. Both were pawns just like ML said in the prison. And after all of that just before he drank the poison wine he said he had no regrets. Killing 20,000 soldiers plus Lord knows how many other people and he had no regrets. That’s not a human that’s a monster. ML deserved much better.

I really tried hard with this one and I really wanted to enjoy it but it’s been on hold for me for three days and I have no desire to pick it up again. So I am dropping it here. When ML told the sadist emperor “I tried when I was little” and then stopped when asked why didn’t you ever tell me you weren’t responsible which was so ridiculous (because he had tried to tell him when he was little and dumbass refused to listen; this seems to be a regular theme running through this script; nobody listens to the truth because what they believe has to be the truth when they have no evidence of their beliefs) but at least I think stupid emperor father got the point. I’m not giving him his redemption arc I still don’t care he is still a villain and ironically when he was writing that long thing about how all the martyrs are going to be remembered, and the lanterns released two sentences in the beginning were right on target both for him and Darth Vader, vile leadership and corruption in court explains the two of them perfectly and yet they still have some form of governing power, don’t they?

Maybe if they gave him alcohol poisoning he wouldn’t have gone to such length to become Darth Vader as he has. Just kill him off and call it a day.
