Her character Xiao Xiao is more suitfor the old soul Lu Mang. I always wondered why her married best friend kept saying to her in the earlier episodes "Look for someone who match your soul or understand your soul then it will work out" something like this. It was kinda like a forewarning what's going to happen ahead.
Why Lu Mang is most suitable for her personality? They are both kinda free spirit. He understands her n let her fly/roam n let her come back on her own. He let her experience, fall down n pick up herself like a child. He will prompt her n point her the direction but will not do everything for her n serve on the platter because she will not like it. Like he said in his letter, he has experienced everything while she hasn't n though he would like do things for her to make it easier (something along thus line), he feels it would be selfish of him to deprive her off it so it is better for her to experience it herself. He will just support her from behind n watch her. LM doesn't like entertaining or suck up to people so is FL. He is older n more mature but actually he is not that overly old. He is in his mid/late 30 whereas FL is in her mid 20s. So they are only 10 years difference in age.
Duan Chong is a dream guy for FL. He loves her but he is someone who wants to help n cuddle his loved one n protect them from pitfalls etc. His love for her is more of a protector n he likes to have a wife who is home to welcome him after a tiring day at work. A wife who can also go functions with him to entertain his working partners or network with him. Some of these things that FL don't like nor is willing to compromise at all. She showed up with a stinker face that the world can she that she hates them.
So my guess is FL will sort of end up with LM with an open ending.
