Somewhat happy ending

Tbh I wanted to see everyone after they are revived. The cast acted well including the little orange guy, hated at first because he wanted to ruin things but loved him after finding out his backstory. I wished the writers had the Princess of the desert place and leader son of rock clan of Demon lord marry each other. Perhaps when orange and the princess revive they will be together ❤️. Poor Cai Lang. Also Chong Zhao and Fu Ling story was sad, hope he get and revived and not the other Lord guy. Fu Ling was innocent and willingly to sacrifice his live to protect his loved one. I rated the music 8.5 because the music was low sometimes, I can hear the actor voice however the music was really low in some episodes. I have no idea if that's an app error.
This is better than Blossoming Love (in my opinion). The two lives were handled well. Both dramas had good side story. That kiss was chef's kiss ✨️

Overcomplicated Plot, Rushed Ending and Unresolved Arcs ruined the drama

▪︎ I saw a quote that sums up the entire drama. "The beginning is the end and the end is the beginning"
▪︎ The second life in the drama should have been shown first. In my opinion, it would have made the drama less confusing. The 1st arc introduced about the chaos pearl, everyone wants it. The sect leader got killed, then they realised the chaos pearl in possession was fake. So many generations protecting something fake lol. Immortals are supposed to be smart and strong. Additionally in the arc, the new twist was the chaos pearl was fl all along felt out of place. After this the plot began introducing new character and fillers arc (zombie invasion, useless sect leaders, the bath place, theif of sect leader badge, amnesia) which ultimately became complicated and i didn't even know what am i watching, the synopsis made it more confusing. I liked Sun Zheni acting in Till The End Of The Moon and it couldn't have save this drama which is a whole mess.
▪︎ The fight at the end with the final boss taking over ml body got resolved with 2 timelines, 1 sword move and some talk about love or something from fl. What a bummer lol. The owner of the world is dead, current ml & fl died (came back in the end 5 mins), and the second lead plotting this whole scenario got an arc of redemption. The actions were done, lives were ruined in the process and demon lord (past emporer) was shaped into a villain by fate. This whole scenario was caused by fate not wanting to let go of chaos pearl and forbidden love. Typical xinxia plot and it reminds me of love and redemption heaven lord. Also the damn amnesia trope lasted for 8 episode or less for fl then later on same thing happened to ml when the demon lord took over his body
▪︎ Afterwards went back in time, did the same previous actions (the ml going to ascend to heaven, kill immortals) to prevent time from being disrupted, then leads had a brief happy ending, no explanation on if the previous people who had died is still alive, if they are alive what were their ending (fate is dead so are the wishes for the secondary characters is not going to happen in this timeline? (What is their ending in the new timeline?)The ruler of the gods and world was briefly mentioned in the middle and last arc. No idea how the final boss looks or backstory. The only objective is to take over ml body because he is strong enough to destroy the world and remake the world since fate and chaos do not follow the "heaven ways".

Also there are tiny bits of plot related to secondary characters love issues and how they sacrificed for one another in a unique way which had been well done but overall the main leads story dragged in the middle and last arc.

drama is mostly about schemes

Positive:
▪︎ML is saved and Shen family got exposed.
▪︎The emperor and Empress (now Empress Dowager) have a good relationship, and they are friendly to FL
Cons:
▪︎Everything's pleasant from ML side but FL side is messed up, scheming father and jealous siblings.
▪︎At beginning FL used manipulation in order for ML to marry her and to get her mother out of the gasp of her father.
▪︎The FL poisoned her mother (illegitimate daughters/concubine daughter called the main wife "mom") with the same poison used on her biological mother (mistress)
▪︎The servants in the harem are disrespectful and FL who manages the harem turns a blind eye to the servant actions
▪︎From my point of view, it does not state ML will stop the harem tradition (concubines are present still, someone is pregnant.)
▪︎FL father doesn't care about his family, and he kill his legitimate son to protect himself. This was frustrating to looks at.

FL biological mother is not favoured thus her suffering from childhood, and she doesn't get the love from her father. Servant of FL mother is controlled, and every action are reported to FL father)

ML made FL clean the palace like a servant as punishment for faking her death. Disgraceful.

FL didn't think twice about what will happen to him if she dies in the fire (he wanted to ki** himself and got gray hair from stress, he always thinks about her because he kept a room full of paintings of FL

Also it was unnecessary for the plot to show ML ordering someone to have intercourse with the princess from another region. He could have left her unconscious and don't defile her by a guard. Outrageous

There are funny moments but it's more like a chore to watch after she gets pregnant with twins. The schemes are a lot and MAJORITY of the plot focuses on it. I only recommend watching the drama up until FL daughter meet her father and then quit the drama because storyline 📉

Superb storyline & performance

I am going to be honest, I was drawn to this drama because of Yang Cho Yue and after she died, I felt like quiting. However, the main leads are supportive to each other in their own way which is nice to see for once and I finish the drama for them.


Story is about villains who have a huge ego problem; princess want revenge after being sold in a marriage arrangement; sons and father want to make money by selling salt through illegal methods (framing fabric sword)


The drama killed off the two subordinates or guards of Duke Su which felt unnecessary but since the screenwriter could have rewritten it since many dramas do not follow the novel (It wouldn't impact the plot). Also, the death of Jiang Li friend (maid) was sad and then the story proceeds to bring in a new maid (Xue XangFei end). Like I get it is a plot device but come on the maid just died and got replaced quickly. The grief for the maid death ended the next episode.?


Also, the damn face close ups. It is awkward to see their face so close up. Without the weird camera work, the drama would have been better.

Kinda reminds me of Love Like the Galaxy

Cons: The drama never mention of FL being the number one female scholar
In the last episode, FL sold the academy.
This pothole is infuriating: The third master after getting a deep wound in the neck came back alive. His wife and son is missing and no-one mention in the family mention them after the incident.
FL brother decided to reappear and has 1000 tael gambling debt. If he was dead for a long time, then that means his wife was living as a widow for a long time. Why is the wife in a hurry to repay her husband gambling debt? If I was her, I would leave him or at least try to sue him for emotional damage. After that episode the brother wife didn't make an appearance in the drama and her fate is unknown.

My judgements: If FL brother wanted to fake his death to escape the army, he should at least use his senses to not gamble because his secret would come out. How come there was no punishment by the judiciary for those who fake their deaths? If there was no law or power for this situation, FL could set up a law to prevent other widows living a life of a servant for her dead husband family while her husband is living his luxury life with mistress (this can help to showcase fl skill as a scholar) Since FL is a tutor, there could have been a storyline of her getting help from her pupils (rich or noble birth) to get her revenge on the Third Master and later on, she could have her pupil infiltrate the imperial court. Thus, reducing the emperor power in the court. It would have been satisfying.

MANIPULATIVE ML who only loves scheming lady because she saves him on the battlefield.

ML believes FL has some spirit or something inside her which makes her hate him/her feelings towards him changed. He even went to summon a sharman into his residence and have them perform for hours and is shocked to see FL acting crazy (spoiler: FL father dies and FL isn't able to see her father for the last time). He made her live in a dog pen
THE BREAKING POINT, HE MADE HER EAT HALF-COOKED DOG FOOD ON THE GROUND ANÐ HE LEFT FL IN A JAIL AND TELLS THS GUARD HE CAN HAVE HER, FL COULD HAVE BEEN RAPED IF SHE HADN'T BITE THE GUARD MOUTH. Afterwards, she's pregnant and isn't able to get water and have to churn butter. HE DIDN'T EVEN GO AND TAKE A LOOK AT HER, only when she faint that is when he cared for her. A MINUTE LATER HE FINDS OUT FL IS WEAK AND PREGNANT. NOW HE ORDERS HER TO ABORT HER CHILD BECAUSE HE THINKS IT IS FL CHILDHOOD FRIEND FETUS.
FL being weak experienced a lot torture and falls in the drama while somehow her child is alive. In addition, the child got swap with scheming lady stillborn.... The logic is thrown out the window, and the plot gets worse and worse.

I couldn't handle seeing this torture and I saw a comment saying FL went back to ML after all of this torture, what a waste of my time...

A Tale of Miscommunication and Unnecessary Conflicts

This drama highlights how important communication and trust are in a relationship.
Unfortunately, the main couple, ML and FL just don’t seem to get that, which leads to all kinds of unnecessary problems and ultimately I think a break-up is necessary. The fact that they keep in touch with their exes《BIG RED FLAG》makes everything worse and causes ridiculous conflicts that could’ve been easily avoided. The ring from FL ex was caused by one phone call, she just goes and meet him, she knows she has a boyfriends and yet wouldn't inform him, ML friend had to inform him about the ex delusional thinking, the lack of trust becomes repetitive in the drama
ML and Fl character are inconsistent- I actually liked the ML at first he was sweet and charming but as the drama progressed, he became more annoying and obnoxious, which really started to bug. He also have a flaw, he was smart when dealing with FL ex and the encounters with his ex-wife he instantly stupid and has no idea what to do, he decides to hide thing FL and doesn't notices the problem while everyone around him except the FL knows this will cause a huge problem in the relationship.
As for the rest of the characters? I really couldn’t stand everyone. The ML’s and FL’s friends, her parents, and especially the exes (the FL’s ex-boyfriend and the ML’s ex-wife) were all just awful:
●(FL bestie reminds of Only For Love because they both give bad advice to FL and at the same time they have problems in their relationship, who in their right mind would take an advice from them?)
●ML friend take his enemy side, he reports everything to FL delusional ex-boyfriend and even gave ML address to him
FL bestie and ML friend are compatible for eachother because they do the same actions and aren't trustworthy friends.
●The mother and father of FL relationship is ridiculous, everything that man do she justifies his action just like in this drama. The guy has been gone for years and he just randomly appear at your shop and you let him into your life, ridiculous. He's only there because he borrowed from loansharks so that he can gamble, after he lost everything. Also he treats FL mother as a doormat and I have no idea how she can live like this. This same woman wants FL to live like her.
Another ridiculous subplot is when the ex of FL bought over her parents with money easily and then started to plan her marriage while she is in a relationship. His ego led to his downfall
Overall, I am just waiting for them to be written off the show or atleast start to act mature.The only relationship that wasn't doomed by trust and lack of communication (only medical problems) is between the ML’s sister and the movie guy perhaps saves this drama (IMO) and it was the only part that felt real and enjoyable.
