I tried to like this movie. I really did. I had high hopes for it but when I tell you it is BORING, I mean it is comatose boring.

The movie had a ton of potential but they CRAWLED through everything, what should have been a hour movie was stretched into nearly 2 hours. Now, if you like slow burn and love the "build", then this might be a great movie for you. Sadly, for me, it wasn't. I love my stuff fast paced. This was so slow that when things finally did start happening, I didn't care and was half asleep.

I care nothing for the characters. I can't even tell you any of their names. Lol which is sad.

Though I will say it shows a lot of what I'm sure idols go through with the companies and it makes me sick. But it's really no secret. Smh.

I really wanted to like this movie. The cover and synopsis are amazing and I'm such a horror/paranormal junkie that I thought there would be no question- that I would love the heck out of it.

I was wrong.

I know "slow build up" is a big thing in horror/thriller, but come on... don't put your audience to sleep. I wanted to cut this off 5 minutes in, that is how slow and draggy it was. But I kept pushing myself thinking it would get better. Again, I was wrong. As soon as Hiroki showed up, I knew I would stay for him and him alone because I saw ZERO hope for this movie actually turning in to anything. I was right about that.

I felt zero connection to the characters and if anything the main female irritated me to no ends. When she would panic and over react her breathing. I wanted to scream shut up. Everything she did was over reacting (this is my personal opinion, don't come for me). I wish they had casted someone better for her. Maybe then it would be a little better?

The storyline was the same as any other, honestly. I'm not hating on that though, there are a lot of horror shows/movies out there that are pretty much cut outs of a different show but they somehow make it just as good.... this one fell short. Way short and left nothing to the imagination. Not far in, you pretty much know who is who and what is what. No mystery at all. Lol

This show kept me so freaking stressed out that it really wasn't that enjoyable, but I couldn't bring myself to drop it.
I wanted to love it. When I first started it, I was hooked instantly. I did love it. But then around the middle, things just got to be too much and it was more anxiety driven. Lol I mean, yeah this would be more true to life, I guess because not everything is lucky or happy but ... this show made me like (almost) every character at first and by the end, I gave zero fucks about Hibiki and Kurumi. I stopped rooting for them by the middle and when my favorite character died, I set the speed to 2x just to get it over with. There were a few shocking moments popped in but it still didn't satisfy me. As for the ending.... I'm sus af and I do want to at least try season 2 and see what is going on with Kurumi and her genes. Lol

I fee like if maybe the pace had been a bit faster, this movie would have gotten a higher rating (from me).
It started out pretty promising, especially with the storyline. But, it wasn't to long before I had to set the speed to 1.25 then 1.5 and even then it felt like it was dragging a bit and I lost interest.
I wish I could say I loved every minute of this movie, like I really thought I would -- but I didn't. Don't get me wrong, I really did like the storyline and I found it really interesting but I don't know if it was the pace or what, I was just ready for it to be over.
Hats off to that ending though. I actually thought I knew down right how it would end, glad to say I was wrong. Lol I like being surprised like that. Though the ending was surprising, it was also fucked up.

Okay, maybe not because everyone's taste is different. Some might see this as a work of art while others, like me, wish it didn't exist. Lol

I've actually watched this movie a few times..... because i keep trying to find the point, reason, SOMETHING as to why this movie is what it is.... but there is nothing. It's still confusing and makes zero sense imo.

It's pretty much if you ordered the Ring off wish. That's what i feel like this movie relates to. Lol. Least the Ring had a back story and reason. Still not sure why this happened in the movie, unless they did explain it and i blinked..... every single time. Lol

I ended up dropping this. I can't sit through it, sadly.

When i first came across it, it really did look and sound interesting. But as i kept watching it just felt like it got worse and worse. I'm not sure if it's the weird time-line setting or the weird acting they all seem to be doing but nothing about this movie made me want to finish it.
Even the story itself is iffy. I wanted to like it. I really did. I sat through more of it than i really wanted to but as they say, you can't force feelings. And my feels clearly said "enough!!" Lol

So I'm not hating on this movie but I kinda expected more from it.
Nothing really happened in this movie except a bunch of teenagers standing around screaming at each other while they're on a time limit of who to kill off or sacrifice.

Can't say I'm annoyed ... but I kinda am. Lol but I get it. I would be screaming too if I was in that situation so I can't hate it too much.

Also... can't ignore the fact that it really is a different version of Battle Royale. I know I try my best to not compare movies/shows but this one was.... waaaayyyyyyyyyy to close to being like Battle Royale for my taste.... just more screaming and in slower motion. I gave up on this movie 45 minutes in before i started to just screen jump.

Personally, this wasn't horror in any way. Thriller, possibly. Mystery, sure. But all in all once it showed the kids death, I wanted to stop watching. The parents remind me of crackheads so i wouldn't put it past them to have "helped" him "commit suicide" to get the insurance money.

This was pretty much all this movie was. People killing themselves or others for insurance money.

And not going to lie, I have zero ideas who his gf/lover is. I swear it's like i blinked and suddenly she was there. Don't remember her name or where she came from.
I don't actually remember any of the characters names. I don't care to. That's how bad this movie was.

This movie was so stinkin cute!!
Also so damn confusing,

It started out great but kinda fell off around the middle .. I mean to the point I almost wanted to cut it off because it was just all over the place and I had NO IDEA what was even going on half the time. Had so many questions and not even a hint of answers. But, I'm glad I stuck around because it did get better. Can't say I got answers really... but.. it did get better. Lol

The relationships in this movie was ... really really weird. and questionable. I know through this whole thing we are told Wao is in love with Gen's sister (who is 10 years older) and she loves him too. (um excuse me, ew. Sorry but 17 and 27? Hello jailbait.)
BUT you can't tell me that Wao wasn't in love with Shima. You can't. The way he looked and acted with her? Yeah no. That is more than friends. That is more than step-bro. That is "I have deep feelings for you but I'm pushing them down into a deep part of me" -- which if that was it, could be explained by the whole "step-sibling" thing... maybe he was weirded about that? I have no idea.

And you can't tell me Gen wasn't in love with Wao... and I don't mean in the "bromance" way either.... I'm amazed he saw Shima at all at any time during the movie, he was so into tunnel vision with Wao. Lol
HONESTLY all three of them together seemed like they could have just been in a poly relationship. Because that is the vibe I was getting and then when they were in his room talking about her leaving, hands down it screamed they all loved each other in ways of more than friends. That is just how I feel about it.

In this case, this is probably the first time I have ever seen main characters as side characters and the FL ends up with the SML. It's all new to me and I feel like I've entered a different universe. Lol The storyline was pretty basic but the relationships, man. Twisty as FUCK! I got questions! So many questions!

**Note: I'm writing this review as I watch the movie to keep up with thoughts that are plaguing me.**

I am going to go out on a limb here and assume this was written by a 12-year-old on wattpad.

There was no storyline.... whatsoever. The flatline of this movie was FL likes ML who likes someone else. So what does she do? Pines. When that doesn't work picks a fight with the other girl... who isn't mean at all. She's actually a sweet girl. Did I like her? No. Lol because (OF COURSE) she is with some other guy that is "terrible" and so she keeps Mino on a string knowing he likes her, so any time she has troubles, she knows she can run to him. "but what if she really needed him" people may ask.... if she wasn't dangling him, she would have been more active in his life and wouldn't have cut out so quick after Rika slapped her.
Which by the way, was fucking stupid. Like you're really going to attack her because Mino doesn't like you? That is some hella childish shit right there and is exactly why he would be better off without either. Can just imagine someone glancing at him in a market, next day news would say the woman is dead and missing her eyeballs because Rika got triggered or something.
que up "I WON'T BE IGNORED, DAN!" (Fatal Attraction, if anyone is curious about that line) lol or worse... she would tie him to the bed and break his ankles like in Misery.
You get what I mean though. If she is going all this not long after just meeting him, that is some messed up shit.

And can we just talk about when she was "drunk" (honestly, I still don't know how that happened. I rewatched that part over and over and must have kept blinking at the part I needed to see) anyway, Mino tells Rika that Aoi rejected him.... AND SHE CHEERS!! Bro, are you freaking serious right now? After all that cheering she says for him to date her. O____O I felt like my head was going to explode.

Ah yes, because someone who has been in love with someone for YEARS can just stop instantly and date someone else. *dramatic eye roll* THAT'S NOT HOW THAT WORKS, YOU PSYCHOPATH!!!! I really really REALLY don't get how this girl is almost an adult. Everything she says, does, acts -- is a 12 year old. Not college age. And I will never understand what is the point of dating someone if you're going to keep bringing up the person they like(d) or their exs? I don't get it. If they are with you (finally) -- why are YOU stuck in the past? shouldn't this time be happy and about y'all?

In all honesty, I get it sucks ass when you like someone and they don't like you back, we have all been there before, I'm sure. But when you push and push and push and beg and beg and beg for them to date you, when they finally do, don't be shocked when the person they do(did) like comes around and their eyes light up. You should never have to pressure someone into dating you.

Fast forward to the ending, that was cute. Not gonna lie. I'm happy they made it out that way but I'm still not a fan of this movie. I wanted to cut it off so many times. I gotta learn it's okay to cut things off. lol. But yeah, this just wasn't it for me. I'm not into the the no plot theme. Not into characters having to beg to be in a relationship with someone then getting mad at a whole ass different character that the one they like doesn't like them. It was a mess. I feel like I'm being over generous with that 8 stars. Lol I really feel like 7 would be better.
I didn't like the movie but I didn't hate it either.

I kept seeing this in my recommendations and though I'm a huge zombie junkie... the plot and cover art just didn't seem like it would be all that great. For the most part... it kinda wasn't, sadly. I hated the male lead... so so so much. I get he is a sweet dude, that's cool and all... but it's literally the end of the world and you're still not wanting to shoot anyone because of the law?? News flash buddy, the law had it's face eaten off. TF even? Lol
So when everything always went down, the girl always seemed to be the one to save him.... always. and it annoyed me to no ends. You're literally being protected by a teenager.... who doesn't even have a gun. But yeah. Go, you, I guess?

Props to the last few minutes when he actually grew balls and started shooting people. Completely and totally unrealistic single handed, but again, do you, I guess? You'd think that would make me a little happier but it didn't. Lol I guess mostly it took up to that before he started firing. Like he didn't even shoot the dude that shot the girl that had been protecting him the whole time. I already didn't like him but kept wanting to give him the benefit of a doubt... but after that scene, I don't care what he did. I lost all hope for him.

For a weak lead to stay a weak lead is a new one for me.

Also just want to say, I mean the characters, not the actors. The actors were amazing hence the 10 stars for the, ^_^

I'm sorry but what the hell was this? The story. The acting. The synopsis. All had great potential.... had they been done correctly. Okay, everything was great except the story. There were just way to many plot holes and it drove me insane.
Yes, I know the lore about the box. Even know the lore about the forest.

But they took all that and made it barely make sense. What was the point of the girl in the beginning. What was the point of Hibiki taking her internet friends out there and leaving them 2 seconds in? I get the shock and awe affect later when they are "found", but it still doesn't make it make sense.

And what is the point of the "ghosts" being excited when newcomers come in? They all just join the group? Why wasn't Washio there then? Because he didn't finish off his finger? Lol what is it only those that chop it off get in? Just wayyyyy to many questions tbh.

And how did the box get under the house anyway? How did the box become the moms? Why did it just magically show up places if the whole point is to leave it alone? I say this also because of the credit scene when her daughter had the box. Like ..... how? Because of Hibiki? Why?

I hate when movies leave me with more questions that answers. Had all this made sense, this really would have been a bad ass movie.

The story itself seems like a good idea and had been done correctly could have been a creepy story. But ... this is probably one of the most stupid movies I have watched lately and honestly doesn't make any sense.

They threw in a lot of things that could have been cut to actually explain why and how all this happened in the first place. I felt absolutely zero connection to any characters. This movie is over a hour and I couldn't even start to tell you any character's name. The two best friends seem close, that's about all I can make sense of.

The "horror" part of the move is laughable. the "stabbing" sounds literally just sound like someone getting hit with a sack of quarters. There were no twists. No turns. No build up. What has this been doing for a hour? X_X I couldn't tell ya. Nothing makes sense.

I get it's supposed to be "urban legend" kinda thing, but even those have a story. Those have a REASON. Those come to you, show up, or you go to them because of some *set* reason (I mean, unless you're the slit mouth woman, then I can see how you just stumble upon her, but even then, there is a story/her story) so you see what I'm getting at, hopefully.

And y'all I'm sorry but the running.... the running had my cry laughing. It reminds me of vines I used to watch of people being dumb for fun. Lol I'm sorry. This just wasn't my thing. This wasn't horror to me.

I wish and I hope someone redoes this movie though because the story itself does have potential to be something if done right.

What exactly was the point of this movie being made?
I saw the first one, while it wasn't bomb, it wasn't bad either. This one was just awful and made no sense.

What was the point of bringing in new characters we know nothing about? To add some spice?? I would care more had this been their story and then a third one come out with it being this.
Maybe, just maybe it would have made a little more sense or at least had a reason.

I really feel like this was made to try to get more money from the franchises. Mostly because at least the first episode had a story and plot among all the gore.... this was mostly gore.
Silent Hill meets Hellraiser, if you will.

I mean i get they wanted to bring their friends back, but they all "re-died" within the first 10 minutes. It's shit when you have to see your favorite characters die all over again. And because over half of the movie was just the first movie, dude.... really? I feel like so much more could have been in the place of that. I'm all for recaps, but when 90% of a movie is recap, it's pointless. In that time you could have told the other kid's stories.

This was a hard flop for me.
