Someone in another forum said "Too much politics, not enough prince and his lady togetherness!", it's my perspective that this drama is boring because I like my Joseon Era dramas to be meaningful, historical, political, have real stakes... this drama lacks that but it's apparently a Rom-com so maybe i'm the one with different expectations?

Drama is boring episodes 3-8 (my personal opinion) but picks up 9-11 nicely and 12-14 are amazing... I have yet to watch the last 2 episodes

I love a smart villain! and the Vice premier is certainly a patient and smart villain. He plays chess when most play checkers. That makes the drama so interesting!
He says in Episode 14 he has planned all of this for 10 years, I am sad we will never have the opportunity to see how it all started and how he masterminded his plan over the years.
There is nothing worse than a villain that is smart, patient and powerful. Not like the dummy master Park who's all Bark but has no spine.

I'm not too worried about the ending of episode 14, I think once V-Premier will ask HS who she is, the son is gonna step in saying she helped him find the Ming-boy/lady.
I also feel bad for the crown princess and how manipulated and expendable she is by her father, I didn't like her at first but these last episodes, I really feel bad for her and would like her to get a nice ending, she's been suffocating for 10 years at the hand of her father

I don't think it's impossible for them to be together, I think it's obvious DO doesn't really care about his crown prince title and he's finally reunited with the person he's been longing for all his life. Now that he realises who she is adds even more reason for him.
I don't see this show going any other way than a nicely tied bow ending for all (Even the crown princess and the brother), i'm just curious how they're gonna sell it in just 2 episodes without the help of some deus-ex machina

This show is pissing me off. Especially after 2 real badass episodes! 13-14 were so good that it hurts me all this time lost between episodes 3-8 on useless, tasteless, dross.

Comments to me are more important than the rating, I love debating and sometimes found myself changing my own rating based on other people's comments, I picked up on some things I missed which made me re-watch and ultimately re-assess my rating, This is what I like about this site, the fact that everyone has different emotions/feelings watching the same thing and discussing about it.

The thing I really don't understand is how can someone write a review about a drama they haven't even finished watching? (unless you've dropped it and give a reason why).
How will you know, 8 episodes deep (out of 16) if you will be satisfied with the way the drama ends?
How many dramas ended with frustrating, disappointing, or even WTF just happened? situations?
I think dramas should be either rated by episode, or as a whole once finished, Exception be made for dramas dropped (I'm interested to know why a drama was dropped).

Rating a drama for me is all about my feeling, I do not think about others number and give my honest number. I seldom look at a drama's rating (number) but i'd rather read a few comments/reviews if I like the synopsis.

The political intrigue is full of twists and the drama offers major stakes that feel real (life and death)

it's about the forbidden love between 2 children from opposing families. The girl's father scheming to overthrow the King, the boy's father a fervent protector of the king. Still one of the best dramas I have ever watched, The heroine is a total badass.

Exactly what I was fearing from the start.... all these useless sloooow side plots we were served episodes 3-8 will rob us of a real good ending. But I'm still hopeful I am wrong.

9-10 are good, 11-12 finally give what I wanted to see: real political intrigue, real stakes and a forbidden romance.
I love it when the baddies are smart, my fav baddie is still KBJ from King 2 hearts.

I hear you, I was the same, and this drama's episode 3-8 are boring. Thankfully, from 9 onwards it picks up and the last episodes (11-12) were awesome.
