The CGI'S hit & miss in earlier episodes. However, it gets a lot better in the later episodes. When done right, they look amazing. Check out the River of Forgetfullness, stargazing, etc

YD is definitely different from Jinmi. She also has a character development in this drama. Her chemistry with YY/TZ is off the charts. The Heaven & Mortal arch split will cater to different taste. There are so many memorable scenes in this drama. They really put a lot of effort in props, costumes, settings, etc. CGI's hit & miss in early episodes but it gets much better in later episodes. When it's done well, the effect is truly spectacular.

I could tell that' not the end of her, as there's a lotus petal when she became a stone. But not long now... just have to be patient. I think thus ending is better than her being a stone.

She will definitely improve now that she's got her memory back. In heaven arc, we see how smart YD is. She has quick grasp of learning spells

Actually this is already one of the best Xianxia if we look at the details: actors, character development, costumes, settings, props, OSTs etc. I have to say in terms of story, there's really a limitation due to its genre. Also, this drama is adapted from a novel & they have already made a big change. So, kudos for that. I know this is quite controversial to some people, especially the shippers, but think of how this drama offer you a different POV. In terms of plot holes, I am not sure if it's due to the cuts? Originally this drama is slated to be 80episodes, but they cut it to 59. 21episodes gone... Maybe I am a lot more understanding as I kind of know the challenges they face before releasing this drama

Ep7? If you like lots of screen time between leads, the next few episodes will totally satisfy your soul. Mortal arc will start at episode 19. No, both leads won't have romantic scenes with others. Lots of great scenes between FL and ML.

The backdrop of Xianxia is always the same. The storyline is different though, the multiple arch also cater to different interests which helps with character development. The chemistry between actors are amazing & the actors themselves are really really good. There is a lot of small tidbits in this drama, which showcases how much effort is put into this. On top of that, the costumes are great, the blue greyish settings in heaven realm is elegant, different from the normal gold settings in most Xianxia. What I am trying to say is that there are so many things to like in this drama that overshadow the not so good part.

Yes some scenes maybe a bit awkward but the Leads actually do the scenes themselves without body doubles. They also went to Xinjiang for some scenes. So, a lot of effort is put into this by actors & production crew. I agree some things could be better, but it's not so bad that it overcomes other good parts of this drama.

Yes I did & his acting's super good. He managed to get into the right feeling in just a few moments. I hope they invite him again. He is super busy though.

I totally agree. If you check out the costume designer's past work, you can see that he's experienced in ancient costume drama, such as Rise of Phoenix & Love and Redemption. So, no wonder the actors are looked after properly.

If your definition of sad ending is the Leads not ending up together, then maybe. Also, one of the antagonists is finally gone, so we are all celebrating. Part 2 starts immediately after Part 1, if that gives you any relief

Give it a chance! Don't be swayed by comparison to other dramas. CXRX has different storylines compared to other Xianxia, but you will still find love, angst & comedy. Chemistry between ML & FL is great. The actors are really good, especially Cheng Yi. He potrays 2 different characters in part 1. Part 1 consists of Heaven Arc & Mortal Arc with different storylines to cater to different taste. Watch the trailers & BTS! I especially like the Asura King trailer for Part 2!
