Is there more to the story then getting bitten and turning into zombie? I don't like pointless zombie series.

Depends, none of the characters are fully developed because of continue action. However I think it's made well.

Where do I watch it?

With this progression you can also wait for season 2,3 and 4.
The only thing that saved this series is the cast.
I'm also not sure about they part 'there where some questions that reminded unanswered'
Imo the whole series is one big question mark. Everything felt rushed.
Plot twists felt really meaningless.
