I thought this was great.

Not sure why the ending seems "open" or "bad" to anyone. Mayu is sitting alone on the roof of the school and hears Takuma call her name from behind her. She turns around and breaks into a big grin.

Either Takuma is alive and well or she's hallucinating. The latter would be stupid.

Would it have been better if there'd been a final shot of Takuma standing there? Or would you need to have seen her stand up and run to embrace him?

No, that probably wouldn't satisfy viewers either.

I find that in the world of Asian drama people tend to want the ending spoonfed to them with everything fully depicted on screen. Otherwise it's labeled as "open".

The ending of this drama wasn't open or sad, unless you wanted Takuma dead. Personally I think the filmmakers sought to avoid the sad ending that the movie had without making the happy ending look too much like fan service.

youtube all good comments....here all bad comments...are we watching same drama?
It's not the worst but it's also not the best. Now that we've seen the final episode I think a lot of the negativity has toned down.

My appreciation of the '2gether' franchise went up a lot after I sampled recent atrocities like 'My Day', which is without a doubt one of the worst BL series ever made -- and what's even worse is I bet the people behind it know it's sh*t but don't care because they just want to cash in on the BL fad.

I absolutely racked my brain where I had seen this actress before and then it hit me....she was in "Rookie Historian…
Regarding her 'Rookie Historian' role, I myself didn't make that connection until today. She should choose her next role carefully so that she doesn't get typecast.

Jung Kyung is so icy that it's inexplicable to me as to why two wonderful guys would be so obsessed with her. The flashbacks show that her unpleasant personality isn't a recent development, so I find that I actually want to see a positive side to her character so we can understand what Joon Young and Hyun Ho like about her.

I don’t think I can take it anymore. I am dropping this drama. The FL is too annoying and dumb for me to bear.…
I appreciate these 'stream of consciousness' commentaries ... you've saved me a lot of time by avoiding this drama :)

It's what some of us have been saying all along: IT MAKES A DIFFERENCE!

"No mo' bromo!"

Now nobody can argue anymore that this is a bromance. And it didn't require naked sweaty sex, it just needed some believable intimacy of the kind that two 'bros' would never do.

And I bet that even the commenters who always insisted that kissing in BL is 'porn' are pretty damn happy right now.

With the final scene centering around those kisses it seems clear to me that 'Still 2gether' was intended to answer the criticism over '2gether' while also rewarding diehard fans. I really respect GMMTV for that. They didn't flinch and delivered a one-two punch where each punch hit its target.

Another smart thing is that they made sure the kisses happened at the same point in this series as the high-five did in Season One. At first I felt a bit like they'd been trolling us with that, but then I realized it was a great idea. Those kisses will be the lasting memory of this series for many of us, which is 1000x better than having it be another high-five.

Wow, BrightWin are good kissers, very compatible. I know Bright is a good kisser from his past dramas and MVs,…
The kisses in 'Boundary Crossing' are really nice too.

Amazing drama but how they concluded the story with Ling Xiao and his mom sucked to me. All those years of mental…
You speak for many of us. I posted a couple of times leading up to the final episodes that I didn't want a redemption arc for her because nothing short of institutionalization would be believable.

Heck, she should have been put in a psychiatric ward after trying to kill herself.

The drama really stumbled here. You make an excellent point that they made it all about her own healing and not LX's.

I still love the series, though. :)

In case you didn't realize, this is a prequel to a movie that takes place when they are adults, so their story does get continued. (Different actors in the roles, though ...)

One of best Asian drama to come out this year!I am usually reluctant to Chinese dramas. As rarely any good series…
Beautifully stated. To linger over this drama's little flaws is like nitpicking a gift carefully picked out for you by someone special.

You should post this as a review so it doesn't get lost in the comment section. :)

I see three of my all-time favorites on that list so I can't argue with it. In fact it gives me ideas on what to watch next. :)

Thanks for sharing it!

This makes me curious to know which dramas got high ratings on douban? Every time somebody mentions the site it’s to say how badly something was rated.

This was the show that started out as basically fronting a grocery chain, then gradually took a life of its own,…
You're right! And it's still their show -- Tops is the name of the grocery chain and it's also the name of the character who cooks in every episode.

The only drawback has been that the episodes of 'Ingredients' could be sequenced in any random way because there's no real storyline. The episode I linked to is the first time that Win and Tops have moved past the friend zone lol.

The same two actors are in a 3-episode web series called 'He She It'. I don't dare say more since it would be a spoiler, but I recommend it. The two guys play characters who are very different from the ones they play in 'Ingredients'.

Not a perfect ending but still my favorite drama of 2020. It will be hard to beat even in 2021 lol.

Thank you to everyone for making this page so supportive and enlightening. I've learned a lot about Chinese drama and culture, and it made me so excited to come here after each episode to see what everyone thought.

Agree with you. For me, Ling Xiao's pain is not totally resolved satisfactorily. Attempting to kill herself and…
So true.

I really did think that a redemption arc for her would be unworkable because her damage goes so deep, and sure enough it didn't ring true. If a series is going to go so far as to have a character try to kill herself then it should follow up with a more true-to-life depiction of the aftermath.
