well, he only has one son, he loves and still trusts his son. so he prepares capable people to assist his son to manage the kingdom after he's gone 🫣.

sigh, because the plot is actually longer than this, like the novel showed how yuru grew of her bussiness. it's just an easy way to save resources and time 🫣

the most logical reason would be that he tied with some old royal family and actually had an official rank and he actually 'killed' the commissioner of yangzhou in the name of 'punishing the traitor'. so he could get an official title as a reward. but again that would be a problem if he was known as the one who assisted the 'rebellion'.

- jiang he is jiu si's mother's brother
- jiang he is not married but he had a good political career and is 'closed' to King Liang
- Jiang he tried get Jiu si to marry the princess to stabilize his position.
- when he was a child, Jiu Si followed/played with his uncle a lot
- in the novel, it was because Jiang he faked his name/surname into Gu. probably in the drama it's like what you said

it's because LZS isn't supposed to be there (as he's not a court official), until he proposed about building the dam, unless there's a back story and he became an official.

the wounds were also not completely healed , basically his health is deteriorting.

in the novel, he suffered from old wounds he got from the battlefield (he blocked arrow for ZGL, if i'm not mistaken) and he's also not young anymore.

the drama can't show the growing of LYR's bussiness along with GJS's career as an official (maybe because of lack of time and budget) so they use this time skip to get into the final arc. lol

He's on the good side. He is flawed but still good :)
