Beautifully and clearly explained! 😌💯 Same I never judge any show based on comments lol, I’ve learnt my…
Thank you. I just think that just that agreeing with any negative trending comments can result in online toxic behaviour, and we've all seen what that can lead to. Everyone's entitled to their own genuine opinion and I never expect anyone to agree with me. I'm happy to respect any opinion, as long as it's genuine, and even if it doesn't agree with mine. I just don't agree with joining the trend because 'everyone else' is being negative. Let's keep spreading the love. :-)
Firstly, unless you are triggered by the subject matter, I recommend that anyone should watch any series or movie to form their own opinions, and not rely on the opinions of others. I've found over the decades, that for the most part, things that others, (critics and viewers alike), have panned or been extremely negative about, I've thoroughly enjoyed, and things others have raved about, I've really disliked, such as Star Wars: Episode II - Attack of the Clones, during which I fell asleep halfway through, and yes, I'm that one person who absolutely disliked Titanic. If I relied on only one episode to rate a show, I wouldn't have bothered to watch Secret Crush On You, nor Lovesick, both of which I thoroughly enjoyed once I got past ep 1. I'm not saying, I recommend this series therefore you should watch it. What I'm saying is, give any everything a go, and form your own opinions - you might just be pleasantly surprised. If you can't get into something by the 3rd or 4th ep, chances are, you're not going enjoy the rest of it, so just drop it. I'm seeing a lot of negative comments, and I suspect it's for 2 main reasons: 1) People do not like the subject matter. My question is, if you're triggered by such content, why on earth did you watch it in the first place? And I'm sorry, but saying that this subject matter (B**M) is not being fair to the LGBTIQA+ community is not a valid point, and there are always commenters saying that gay r*p* always sheds a bad light on the community too. Sorry people, these things happen every single day, everywhere, regardless of race, gender, etc. It's a fact of life unfortunately. Many people who raise these arguments seem to be burying their heads in the sand, in the same way that they did when it was not acceptable to refer to the community itself, just a few years ago. I'm quite sure that many of those 'advocating' for the LGBTIQA+ community, wouldn't bat an eyelid if it was a straight series and not otherwise. I don't see one tenth of the negative comments when it's a female in the same situation... in fact, I rarely see any negative feedback for straight series using the same subject matter. Again, it you're triggered, don't watch... and if you are, don't watch and then complain about it. It's also quite hypocritical to berate one series for the subject matter, whilst praising another, like KinnPorsche, for the same thing, and in fact, when sometimes it was more graphic. BibleBuild's scenes are some of the most graphic in recent years, and yet everyone loves them as a couple - if that's not hypocrisy, I don't know what is. 2) People don't like the characters and/or acting. I haven't read the book, but I know that in Thailand, writer's copyright, etc, far outweighs anything else. The characters are being played as the author wrote them. End of. Many people hated Saint's performance of Pete, in Love By Chance, but it was a testament to his acting that he was able to portray Pete as he was written. Having said that, you don't have to like any/all characters or actors. That's totally up to you. I'm curious as to why we're getting the 2nd part of the story first... I suppose it's either to prepare us for the more horrific first part of the story, or to prove that characters can be redeemed, so it softens the blow for what happened in the past. Just a random observation. is it just a coincidence that writers/screenwriters who seem to be into this subject matter, all seem to be named Poy/Poi?
Noey may be a gangster, which if you think about it, isn't really a surprise - life for people who live around the temples can't be easy, and I guess they need to be streetwise, but he also has this really, cute and sweet, slightly old-fashioned, dorky side, mind you, it's really scary just how quickly he can go from one to the other. He's definitely confident, and isn't afraid to go after whatever and whoever he wants, nor to say what he means. I love how they had him being into the old song, and I have to admit, it's very catchy, and I really love his hair. When I see modern Tar, I kinda miss Noey's hair. From the comments I've seen everywhere, lots of younger people like the song too... just like Kuea's song in Cutie Pie 2... Maybe it'll start a new trend for older generation songs. Stranger things have happened. Can anyone tell me exactly how old Noey and Thi are supposed to be? If Thi is a senior at uni, then he's about to graduate, so I'm guessing he's about 21/22, (?), but I can't pinpoint Noey's age - he's a high school sophomore, so would that make him about 17? I absolutely loved today's episode and actually laughed out loud when he was serving Phayu his meal. Not sure whether he should be insulted, or grateful! For everyone being negative about this sweet little series, not every Y series needs to have full on make-out scenes - sometimes we all need a little fluff in our lives. I learnt very early on with regards to Thai series, no matter how bad you think the first episode is, always give it chance. If you really can't stand it after 3 eps, then fair enough, but if I'd stopped after the first episode, I definitely wouldn't have watched Love Sick The Series, or one of my all-time recent favourites, Secret Crush on You. Definitely one of my favourites for 2022/2023.
When I saw Mean's wig, it took me back to the wig that Ja wore in Until We Meet Again. It was obvious that Ja was wearing a wig and many people commented on just how bad it was, but after seeing Mean's, I wondered if Ja's wig was really that bad... low and behold he's suddenly wearing it again, and I can honestly say that no, in comparison, Mean's is 100 times worse. It made me wonder too, if this series was related to UWMA, as Ja's role in both was an architect. If not, I wonder why they deliberately made him wear it? Like a lot of commenters, I think they've tried to put too much into one series, and the time jumps definitely are making everything confusing. They're spending too much time on unimportant/filler scenes, and not enough on others. For example, the childhood scenes were unnecessarily long, spread over several episodes, and the scene where Em cries to his mother over Name, seemed totally pointless, especially after not contacting him for so long. If Aunt Nid hadn't collapsed, would Em have bothered with Name? - he certainly ignored his sad postings on FB. Not a very well thought out series.
Oh not another "Mean is homophobic" comment (ROLLS EYES).You do know that he directed The Yearbook, which is a…
I'm really sorry that you seem able to brush over Mean's obvious homophobia. I have no problem with using the BL genre as a step up into the acting profession, and God knows everyone's entitled to their own opinion, but honestly, but when BL actors make huge public announcements and protestations about leaving the genre to pursue a career in 'real' acting, especially people like Mean, who vowed not to return until he was old and had run out of money, or Krist blowing up over being asked if he is gay, and vowing never to play another BL role unless is opposite Singto, it's totally hypocritical when they return to the BL genre within a couple of years. Obviously in the BL world, they were big actors in a little pond, and as such, made not only big money, but what they thought was a huge name for themselves, but the truth is, in mainstream entertainment, there are so many more established big name stars that they have to compete against for roles, and from my point of view, none of them have been very successful with the roles they did manage to get - I don't think they're particularly great actors. It's fine if you don't want to work in the BL genre anymore, but don't make a big song and dance about leaving, making derogatory comments in the same breath - just leave quietly, then you don't look like a hypocritical, money hungry idiot when you come crawling back. If you can't handle people asking if you're gay, just don't accept a BL role in the first place, especially if it's your fans innocently asking... every day hundreds of new people are introduced to the world of BL, and they probably don't understand yet that 90+% of BL actors are straight. As for Mean specifically, have you not seen the videos of the way he constantly treated Cooheart during the Love By Chance promos? It's disgusting. I don't understand how it was allowed to happen. He was a bully and downright cruel. You will never convince me it was all in jest, especially when you see Earth's reaction. As for assuming that BL has been something he's been interested in since uni, how do you know that it wasn't just a set assignment? I know of other actors who wrote and filmed BL films for assignments - just like filming a documentary, or a murder mystery, or anything else... films aren't just one particular genre, and I'm sure that students make a variety of different film projects. You can't just say that I'm only going to do certain assignments. Anyway, your opinion is your opinion, just like everyone else's. I respect your opinion and don't wish to try to change that opinion. Just don't disrespect others' opinions.
Still not sure how I feel about this series. The subs are all over the place and I can't make sense of them half the time! I still have trouble working out who's who when it comes to the OGs, though that wasn't an issue with S1 or S2, even though they were different actors in both. None of them really look right to me, but I specifically have issues identifying Kit, Forth and Beam, though if they're all together, I can spot Forth. And what's with Pha being such a skinny, short guy in comparison to Yo? I know that Yo's not short, but Pha's supposed to tower over him and have an athletic physique - Tatch would have made a much better Pha. And what happened about continuing the original storyline? All of a sudden, and it seems like it's since Cutie Pie aired, every new Y series, especially if the actors are all new, they're suddenly straight into hardcore NFC scenes... often from the first episode. Is every company/channel trying to compete to get the best sex scene or something? It's actually a bit of a worry, and I can't help thinking of how much coercion and abuse some of these young actors can and do suffer, under the hands of their controlling managers and directors/companies. I've just got to say, the actress playing Manfah is awful. The whole time she was accusing and questioning Lom, I thought she was trying to signal him to leave her and Tatch alone - she was ott before, but her facial expressions were worthy of a comedy award. And how come no one has actually bothered to tell Parak that she left him herself? When does she get to take responsibility for her actions? I see the famous Thai lack of continuity is alive and kicking, especially when Lom and Tat were at the table by themselves. I mean come on! - Is Lom leaning back in his seat, looking cool, or hugging his knee? Okay, so like most people, I don't mind a good sex scene, and you've got to give Danny his due, he's good, but please acting coaches, some of these young guys look really awkward kissing - Mark is a case in point. He's kind of in the middle - sometimes he looks comfortable, and at other times, he definitely doesn't. I thought Bright looked awkward, until I saw Kao (Tap) in Fahlanruk. Yes, Bright has improved immensely, and it definitely makes for a more pleasing scene. These series have months-long workshops for a reason, so there's no excuse for the acting coaches not to pick up on those guys who don't look comfortable. Please help them, whether it's to get them to pretend it's a girl they're kissing, or if it's just lack of experience period... otherwise they won't get other roles. Just one final bitch... What's with Ming calling himself just a poor engineering guy and wondering how he can compete with that Kang guy? You couldn't even take it as he was joking. Okay, he's not as rich as Yo, but he's certainly a million miles from being poor. Role on next episode. Will Tatch win the Ambassador award next week - thanks for the spoiler in the opening credits by the way!
Episode 1 was okay - I never expect much from a first episode anyway. Just watched ep 2 and although I will continue to watch the whole series, I'm starting to lose interest very fast. The series had potential with it's different storyline, but knowing that only 2 of the interns will get a permanent position, kinda makes the whole thing pretty pointless to me. I'm not assuming that this is a BL at all and I don't mind that, if the series can hold my attention. I really dislike the 2 female leads - talk about being typically annoying and manipulative. They do nothing for me at all, nor does Bas' character Toey, who's just a complete brat. I don't like the photographer side story either. I think the male cast is doing the best they can with what they've been given, which isn't much and I don't mind the chief of housekeeping and her sidekick is okay too. I was hoping to see more of the 3 interviewers, but maybe they'll be more involved later. The so-called running of the hotel is totally unrealistic and since when does an intern question her superior? ... And where are all the normal staff anyway - they're only using interns to serve the meals? SB Five deserved to be in a decent series, (not to mention the rest of the male ensemble), but I'm not sure that this is it. I'm kinda wishing this was yet another uni series! It's the first series that I've found myself fast forwarding through a lot of scenes, that are just too slow and boring for words. Part 5 was probably the best part of this week's ep. Let's hope that next week improves.
I've been watching all the Gun and Tep clips without subs and let me tell you, I know exactly nothing about…
Okay, this is how I interpreted the situation... Gun is gay. Tep likes Gun - it's obvious by the way he acts towards Gun's friend. Gun's little brother is either homophobic in general, or just doesn't like that his older brother is gay and is embarrassed about it. Everything is going along nicely until younger brother finds a used condom in Gun's waste bin. Gun and Tep are having a quiet beer at the pub and Gun's is sharing on social media. Little brother goes to the pub to give Gun a serve, probably because he's broadcasting his and Tep's photos and 'whatever it is (friendship?) and he's embarrassing both himself and his family. In the process, he let's 'slip' the fact that he found the condom. Brother leaves and Gun seizes the opportunity to kiss Tep, but because he knows that Gun is obviously sleeping with someone else, he rejects him. Little brother is 'happy', Gun is 'rejected' - Tep won't answer his calls and I assume is devastated??? It feels like there is an episode missing, but then not every lakorn has a happy ending. As I said, it's only my interpretation and chances are, I've got it completely wrong, but until it's subbed, we'll never know... unless some very lovel Thai speaker can fill us in.
Can anyone answer the following for me please?... Who played Christina, Pob, Teacher Kit and Mixer, the guy who fancied Book in the last episode? Also, I'm a bit confused by this... when they were at the beach and Ess rang Christina, why did Wit also ring Christina?
I really hope that someone will eventually sub this for us, but until then, my interpretation is that Gun's brother doesn't like the fact that he's gay and is disgusted, angry and embarrassed by it. Tep obviously likes Gun - he's shown it in various ways, plus we've seen him be possessive and he was happy to drink from the same straw as Gun (indirect kiss), but I think the reason Tep rejects Gun after he kisses him, is because he feels betrayed. Gun slept with his neighbour and was caught by his brother, who, when he saw that they were at the pub, went to tell Tep, probably misguidedly thinking it would break them up and stop his brother. I think Tep thought that Gun only had eyes for him, but now he knows that he sleeps, or at least, has slept around. I have no real idea what Gun and his brother talked about, but I’m assuming that he’s trying to get him to see things from his point of view. Unfortunately the deed is done and Gun has lost Tep. Unless it's (hopefully) subbed, it's all supposition, but until then, that's my interpretation.
Am loving this series and I agree that it reminds me of Diary Tootsies. Loving the story and the music. Can anyone tell me the name of the shorter stylist assistant - the one who was in 2 Moons?
