Yes it does lack consistency. He was ready to step down, go through the divorce and move on with his life. He was even looking for his replacement to present to the board and I think he did so but was blocked by Ma Ri. What changed in his motivations has not been explained very well.
It can't be that he is afraid of being exposed as having abandoning WR on purpose. WR was too young to know what was going on and the lady finding him has passed away. No one else knows anything about what actually happen.
So the chief of psychiatry is the only one who finds JT's desire to send WR off weird and questions his motivation? HS after being told his mother thinks WR is her child does not find it strange that JT wants to send WR off instead of doing a DNA test to ease his mother's mind so she can move on. You would think if he loves his mother he would want to clear it up for her instead of being a yes man to JT.

I disagree that was no way to say goodbye for those 2 lovers. Better for a scene with him walking away with no kiss. He ain't going no where after that.
I am at a loss. What kind of so-called detective does not ask if the other person looking for HW left a way to contact them? Even if the detective was talking to a separate person in that town he should have at least asked who the other person may have spoken to and followed up with that person to see who it was. That lady JT talked to has his contact information for God's sake. Maybe this will be cleared up in the upcoming episode but this makes the detective look pretty incompetent if it is not.

There have not been a lot of wins for the decent people in this drama. The only ones have been SJ's recovery and reuniting with her mom. I won't count SJ and WR dating cause they broke up. Crappy people like JT and NY have everything going their way.
Ma Ri needs someone on her side soon. Someone that can see through JT's bullshit. I hope he doesn't get to commit her and someone intercedes before then.

Though out this drama I have not been a fan of the way SY makes decision after decision without thinking it through properly or discussing it with others directly impacted by her decisions.
She should have never listened to JS dumb ass suggestion in the first instance and that's why she totally lost SJ, never set up Woo Chang with the teacher without his knowledge, never thought in her head she had no right to be happy in the future, never thought it was a good idea to just see her daughter happy from a distance, should have told SJ right away when she finally found her instead of wasting time playing fixer which she could have done after. Every time she makes decisions that take away the agency of the person directly impacted.

This show has the most oblivious people I have ever seen in a drama. Can't recognize people they actually know from behind, their voices or mannerisms. Clearly observe someone ease dropping, ask what they are doing and readily accept some lame excuse that is clearly not true.

I don't know what JT's endgame is but he is not only depriving MR of her son and WR of his mother but also HS of his older brother and WR of his younger brother. HS does not have any friends he is close to we have seen so far except he considers WR a friend. WR might find HS annoying at times but he doesn't hate him either. There is no reason I can see that if all is revealed there would be any real jealousy or turmoil between any of them.
JT stands to lose out big time with his foolishness in all of this. It's not as if WR is going to expose him as abandoning him. He was too young to pick up what was going on even if JT did do that.
SY, JT's reactions were those of someone being startled at what was revealed. They were not even close to reactions of disappointment. When will this woman ever be able to put 2+2 together without being hit over the head with it? Even SJ without knowing what was really going on and having only brief encounters could see that.
SY can be so damn dense sometimes it really is annoying. Uri is not the child you are looking for but doesn't notice his reactions to everything she tells him.
