I agree that her being a chef was very much like a hallmark movie but the rest of the comment about why she left that job really unsettles me, it shows that u really can't connect to the character at all, maybe cuz u hv not yet felt that ever in ur life, I think maybe u will change ur mind about it after surviving in this competitive world by urself for a few years, this may sound a little harsh but i mean no offense.

Eh what, ofc it's a kdrama so it shares similiarities with the plethora of kdramas u hv listed What similar stuff happens, I have not seen it happening anywwhere, the only case an ex is ever introduced is to enduce jealousy in leads which was barely the case here. And what's even the problem with reference, many shows do it. Do keep in mind looking at seok ryu's behaviour we will probably get 'she also liked him back then' trope so u r just again shooting urself on foot by judging things before the plot is clear, like the ' 'ml is virgin'case. And look people had a problem when he didn't have an ex now people have a problem with why the ex was introduced, it's impossible for everyone to be happy.
To sum it up you have a problem with things which are similar to other dramas and problem with things which aren't, then u r clearly not enjoying urself why even watch.
