After the first few episodes, I only watch or focus on crime cases only. I skip almost everything not related to the crime cases including YQ & DQ scenes. The constant flashback everytime they meet kinda annoyed me.

SFL is insufferable and she walks, talks, pouts, and cries like a 5 year old; horrible character. Like for YEARS…
She's so annoying, I skipped her scenes. This kind of character is unnecessary especially for a crime drama. It drags the drama down even more.

This was filmed three years ago. So I’m not worried. Also prefer his costume dramas than modern.
I like watching him both in costume dramas and modern dramas (non-romance focused). But he has always said that he prefers realistic dramas. He's 33 years old now, can't get stuck filming idol costume dramas forever. He's slowly transitioning into more serious roles.

The main CP 'romance' is not exactly romance since both of them are on a mission. I'm getting tired of watching their flashback scenes. I skipped most of their unproductive scenes in episode 13/14 today. I skipped the forensic girl & capten shifu 'loveline' scenes. Luckily after the unnecessary scenes from the episode 6, we've seen less of YQ's childhood friend.

Gong Jun has no foundation in realistic dramas. So, taking on a mid-budget/low-key project from a small company is a good start to avoid pressure. This drama was filmed 3 years ago.

He filmed this drama after LOA-RWTW-FSMM RMP. But if you meant the broadcast then yes. LOA was broadcast right after he finished filming this drama.
