Tragic but worth it.

You should definitely watch it. This is a drama that although knowing it will be a sad ending, it is worth every single second of your time. Worth the pain, leave such a powerful impact that you will rewatch it again and again. It has been 7yrs for me and Im still longing for it. It is just unforgetable.

After 7yrs, here we are still talking about this amazing unforgetable drama. Honestly I sometimes cant remember what drama I watched last year but I can remember every single scene of this drama. Scarlet Heart/MoonLover my ultimate favourite drama of all time. I have yet to watch any drama that can match it. Cdrama Love Like The Galaxy is closest to this. Lee Joon Gi has been my favourite actor since Iljimae. He is truly amazing and nailed the role as the mesmerizing super hot and sexy 4th Prince here. Cant imagine anyone else for that role. This is one of his best work. Unfortunately the drama has low rating in Korea bcos it was during the time when Korea and China have some political issue and this drama was an adaption from Cdrama. Luckily it was popular among international fans. Lee Joon Gi deserves a Daesang award for his role.
Guess Im rewatching my favourite scenes again this year.

Chinese Lunar New Year 2023 is in 4days. I wonder whether we will still be getting the extra 10episodes (Im not sure how many). After Love Like Galaxy, dramas are so so. No excitement like Love Like The Galaxy. Im rewatching LLTG again.

Well that is just too bad. Missing out on so much. Should really watch it for yourself. Plus who said the ML didnt suffer? I personally feel that she has already forgiven him in her heart but she didnt express it.
Honestly if Im CSS, I wont even break up with ML. He did what he had to. That was his ultimate plan from the start. He just had to do an it earlier before his marriage to protect CSS and her family from being implicated. If FL didnt break up with ML, they both dont have to suffer so much but I supposed the writer wants to show character growth.

He is after all the Great General and brilliant strategist. That is what sets him apart from other generals.

If you remember in the episode when the CP was given the tiger tally, he wanted to give it to LBY for safekeeping but LBY advised him that it should be kept safely in the Eastern Palace where it belong. CP then listened to the Crown Princess and the gave the tiger tally to her relative Sun to be kept secretly outside. Prior to this before Huo Chong's death anniversary prayer, LBY advised CP not to be too kind and give special favours and position to incompetent relatives. The issue with the stolen tiger tally just proven his point when Sun (a relative of the Crown Princesss) who was entrusted to to keep the tiger tally safe was bribed by Marquis Yue to steal the tiger tally instead.
From the beginning, they tried to get LBY to his side and support 3rd Prince but LBY is very intelligent and loyal to the Emperor and he always look at the bigger picture. He was loyal to the CP and helped him many times. CP didnt heed his advise and land into trouble all the time bcos others know CP is too kind and can easily be taken advantage of.
It comes to a point when LBY feels that CP is really not suitable to be the CP and starts to side with 3rd Prince. It is a very difficult position for LBY because both are like his own brothers. However 3rd Prince is not the evil power hungry type. He too wants what is best for the royal family and country. Imagine if someone like Marquis Yue is on CP's side and CP gave all authority to him, the whole Royal family will crumble. He would take the throne for himself.
This is part of the reason LBY supported the 3rd Prince.
Honestly I would too. Among all the Princes, 3rd Prince is most capable and he is fair. Not everyone has what it takes to be Emperor. I personally think LBY will be an excellent Emperor.

Being very intelligent and wise, LBY can foresee it happening. He was charged not for the tiger tally being stolen issue but for using the tiger tally to deploy the soldiers on the day he planned to kill his fake father.
He did state that the CP basically left everything of authority to him to be in charge and that he can use all that to become the Emperor and control everything if the CP ascend to the throne.
The Emperor asked LBY why didnt he and LBY replied because he is loyal to the Emperor.

LBY didnt steal the tiger tally, it was Marquis Yu. LBY used his own Tiger tally belonged to his own Huo Clan to replaced the counterfeit tally created by ShaoShang when she tried help the CP. LBY had his man to monitor SS so he found out what she did. She made the counterfeit tally but didnt know that it was supposed to be magnetic if put together. She would have gotten into serious trouble if it was found out.
The Tiger Tally was given to LBY to honor General Huo Chong. LBY is the only one left in the clan.

The night when LBY killed his fake father Marquis Ling, he used the tiger tally to deploy soldiers to stand guard outside to prevent other people from entering Marquis Ling's resident. He didnt want innocent people to be there.
*Remember SS sent her male worker to send a birthday gift but he was denied entry. That was when she knew for certain that LBY is planning to do something serious at Marquis Ling's birthday party.
When SS went there she was stopped by the soldiers with barriers but her family came and helped her get through them so she can save LBY.
LBY was punished for using the tiger tally to deploy those soldiers.

The soldiers in Marguis Ling's residence was bought off by Marquis Ling because he also suspect LBY will do something at the birthday banguet.

Wu Lei is a great actor. I watched his previous drama CrossFire. He was so damn good there too. He was crippled in a accident and his acting during his rehabilation was so good. The end scene when he was playing in pain in the semifinal with an injured hand. I can really feel his pain. That scene was priceless.
But the whole drama was really good. Now Im back to LLTG again. I wish i can watch his dramas at least twice a year.

Rewatching epi 38 now when LBY got punished. Felt like the Wendy is watching the drama of LBY n CSS together with us. Emperor was so funny. But my favourite episode is 36.

I will only say one thing, "I will NEVER EVER leave a guy like ZiSheng!". We can only dream for a man like him.

Where exactly did u read those negative comments? I usually wont believe any negative comments for any drama till I watch the drama myself. Im glad you gave this drama a try and loved it.

I love her mum in You are My Glory too as Yutu's mum. She was so super cute.

Precisely. Although not much screentime for the couple together at the beginning, everytime they do meet, BOOM! Fireworks! Their chemistry was off the chart. I really love the way LBY looks at NN.
Even his expressions during fight scenes were amazing too. His deadly stare will send chills down his enemy's spine. My favourite fight scenes was with PengKun in Souchun and finally with Ling Yi. Love them.
