Lots of changes from the novel, but, I dig it. It's people like, Dan, the commander and lieutenant, why people hate the police and why the world won't get better.

It makes me hate her and Alisa even more.

The "rat friend" I referred to was Alisa. Honestly, I now understand that Alisa doesn't really have a thought. She was first nonchalant when Anil and Pin were suffering, and then all of a sudden, she was okay with it. I wouldn't trust her.
