Actually tvn dramas don't go for more than 20 eps. Only weekend makjang family dramas have more than 50 eps these days, not the same thing anymore as Empress Ki time. This is a prime time tvn drama. Before this drama is aired, a lot of people thought that this is gonna be second Joseon Exorcist. It might be tvn wanted it to split two parts according to drama schedule and waiting for feedbacks.
