Not what I was expecting... Fun to see a kdrama not in Korea, but I'm far from sold on it. Mostly because of the whole premise. The AR doesn't make any sense. Okay cool, some genius programmer made it realistic, but how does an eye lens make you feel and act against things that aren't there? How would you come close to feeling a sword blocking another sword when neither exists? Might watch more, we'll see...
I honestly think this show is getting better as it goes along. So far a much better drama than I expected and the love between the two main characters is beautiful.
This is so sad. You can still access the DramaFever content through https://vrv.co/dramafever though I'm not sure how long that lasts and if you don't have an account you probably can't watch premium and without Ad block get ads.
Well I think The Rise of Phoenixes is the only Chinese drama that has matched up to Kdramas in cinematography (ofc good kdramas). While Kdramas don't usually try the flashy special effects (and are usually horrible at them), I haven't seen much good vfx in Chinese dramas. They're usually crap actually.
It was a decent setup though I'm still skeptical. I do like the addition of Prosopagnosia to the plot, but most other changes I feel are just feeding into the usual kdrama cliches.
22 episodes in even though I loved every second, it was going to be a solid 8. Then I watched the last 2 episodes. I don't think I can write a review now. They broke me.
Watching this before I watch the new drama remake. It's not superior, but based off of the trailer for the drama, this is going to be superior. It was a fun watch and I got to see lots of faces I recognized and love
I'll admit there have been times where I could see someone getting bored with this show; I know it isn't perfect. But I can't help but love every second of the show and this second to last episode had some great feels to it. I've watched every episode as soon as it was available. The montage of deaths with that music in the background was amazing.

Let's see if it balances out.
