One of the best horror/mystery movies. None of those jumpscare bullshit, purely atmospheric and the plot is deep. It's not just a story about an exhumation gone wrong, it's about history, Korean and Japanese myths, and Korean rituals. Some people might not find it exciting but this is what a good horror movie is imo. It takes its time to build up and the horror is not totally in your face. A lot of hidden meanings. One needs to watch this more than once to get all the hidden messages. This movie has a similar vibe to The Wailing which is another classic.
It's been some time since I've watched a good horror/mystery movie because Hollywood horror movies always disappoint with shallow plots. If one is looking for jumpscares, scary-looking demons and extreme gore then this is NOT the movie for them.
Please tell me this is pure bromance and there is no bg romanceโฆ?
No bg romance at all for the MLs. Initially one of them wanted to be in a relationship in university but he later gave up and it became a "joke" that he will be single for life because of the other ML. ๐
YR and his shameless indirect flirting and QT panicking ๐ I think QT gave up looking for a gf at the end and resigned his fate to YR, he just accepted that his love life has been cursed by YR lol.
Yea sometimes it seemed like like YR was just put there in scenes where she was not really needed. I think it…
I am not talking about the book. I am talking about the drama. Her presence in some scenes in the drama is unnecessary, and she is not his gf in the drama and ZR didn't show any romantic interest in her in the drama. He treated her like other support role colleagues, and she is also a support role here. It is clear they removed the romance part in the drama and focused on other things instead.
28 episodes are too short , i need 2nd season with same casts ! Love the dynamic between 2 ML , them being each…
Yea sometimes it seemed like like YR was just put there in scenes where she was not really needed. I think it was just to show like she had a crush on ZR and was like following him around sometimes. But like that's hardly the behaviour of a busy nurse in a busy hopsital. That's why she seemed a bit immature and school girlish at times.
Damn ZR is such a big softie for SY. They are complete opposites but still match e/o so well. I am glad that there is no romance in the series like the novel and focuses on the two main leads motivations, their bond and the team.
in the last scene of ep9, what did Qian mean by "if my running away has ended up with that letter, would I regret…
I think he is running away from the fact that he also has some non brotherly feelings towards Yuan. So he is saying that if him running away from Yuan's feelings ended up with Yuan dying at the hands of the gangsters and just leaving that letter, then would he regret running away. So basically the fear of losing Yuan is making him question him pushing Yuan away.
I love Yuan, but he looked a little stupid in EP 9 walking into the turf of gangsters and getting his ass beat knowing full well most of them didn't like Qian or him. He is supposed to be a genius. He was "trying to protect" Qian but Qian ended up protecting him, again. Just that made it seem like Yuan still has a long way to mature. If it wasn't for Brother Le, he would have been in the hospital and so would've been Qian. Like that shit was not necessary from Yuan.
technically it wasnt his fault he was depressed when he wife said to break up out of depression he drunk a lot…
Yea that is why Soohyun probably forgave them individually and amicably separated. Again, imo, sleeping with any other woman and sleeping with one's wife's sister is different but Soohyun understands that both her sister and Suho had never had any ill intentions for her.
I saw those things happening in many western dramas. Two brothers loving same girl and she keep juggling btw them…
And it still is a really weird thing to date a guy or girl and then date their brother or sister later because family should be one's safe space, and to have family members betray the trust is awful. Something one cannot recover from. Specially if it is a spouse sleeping with your sister or brother.
technically it wasnt his fault he was depressed when he wife said to break up out of depression he drunk a lot…
It doesn't excuse the fact that it did happen. Soohyun was quite forgiving even after thinking it was with the neighbor but with her sister it's too much to bear. Sleeping with a random woman while drunk and going through heartbreak and doing it with your wife's sister makes a huuge difference imo. This is something very hard to forget because it will always be there as she will keep seeing her sister too. It was also his fault that he hid it from his wife. He wouldn't have said anything if Seonyul hadn't sent the picture to her. Soohyun still forgave them but don't think they can be back to normal how it was before. The right thing is for Soohyun to create her own path and a fresh start doing what she loves - writing.
They will always blame him no matter what but they will not realise he also lost his son and to protect his wife…
The FL forgave him even when she thought it was the neighbor but with her sister whom she trusted with her whole being is too much. I am sure she still forgave them because she is a forgiving person and they don't wish harm on her but it's not enough to get back together with the guy and act like nothing happened. But that's the realistic bit I think. People forgive, but they can't forget.
I think that ending was appropriate. I think Soohyun and Suho are not together anymore but she forgave them. It's easier to forgive them in this case but getting back into the married life with someone who had a one night stand with your sister is not something people get over. Soohyun has found her own happiness in writing again. Initially her happiness was her family but now she has built her own happiness that depends on her and not others.
Happy that Seonyul has went back to med school and found his path. He had his closure and both him and Soohyun overcame this pain together can finally move on.
Soohyun and Seonyul had great chemistry even though it was non romantic. I could feel their pain, hesitation, and dilemma. Kudos to Dongmin and Nam Joo for bringing the main leads to life!
For a kdrama this is fresh and out of the box and could have done without the typical teen romance cliches you…
Yes, probably but it's still something we have seen countless times before. I love superhero/superpower plotlines if done right but I just didn't feel anything special about this in the sense that it didn't leave any impression on me. The characters felt incomplete except for the character of the kid who could fly. The long flashback in the middle just took me out. And the ending was rushed and everyone just somehow gathered in one place and had a big cliched fight out. And the most underused character imo was of the class president because his superpower had so much potential but to make the others two teens shine as main characters they totally dulled his plot.
There is apparently a new superpower plot kdram in the making and I hope it avoids the usual tropes.
But she was not there when Soohyun arrived at the house so how could her mother leave the door open? It was just…
Yes but I mean the only it's her if she came after Soohyun but didn't see her and her husband and left the door open. And in ep 1 we saw she was cooking food at her restaurant for Soohyun's birthday. Soohyun even tried to call her mom from the airport but her mom was shown to be busy with the restaurant and serving the customers.
It's been some time since I've watched a good horror/mystery movie because Hollywood horror movies always disappoint with shallow plots. If one is looking for jumpscares, scary-looking demons and extreme gore then this is NOT the movie for them.
Lool the MLs off-camera chemistry ๐ Yang Yutong approves there at the back giggling away
