Actually in my opinion the change from webtoon to game isn't that bad and actually gives it a bit of uniqueness that I really appreciate. For example, I really liked that someone could help her from the real world by locking a door so another character couldn't get in or giving her an item. That opens up many possibilities to move the story forward. Which they leave unused... :( And that's the main problem. While watching it you just realise -at least I did- that a detail here doesn't quite fit, a characters motivation there is weird and then it drags a bit compared to the original. In my opinion with a bit more money, attention to detail and love for the story most of these flaws could have been fixed.
Not a bad cliffhanger (like ending the series in the middle of a standoff). But definitely not the end yet. People die so I wouldn't call it a happy ending
Haven't paid attention if she's in the trailers of the next episode. But just killing her would be definitely out of character for ML. But making her disappear so she can live undercover and safe somewhere else until everything is safe again in the palace seems plausible...

Sadly, I kind of expect to see such behaviour in cheap dramas that are full of tropes and have become a bit desensitized concerning the issue... On the other hand when I see a good drama pulling a stunt like that while otherwise handling the issue very well I have a tendency to analyse how they could have changed the scene just a little bit to include consent while keeping the results (storytelling function of the scene) the same... I'm not writer but if anyone is up for an article about what scenes in what dramas could be changed without a problem and where you need to adjust the script more profoundly because the assault is used as a plot point... I would read it
