The pre release clip when they are walking in the evening, seems like it could be possibly the same night or next night that everything was exposed about her ex and the mama wanting confront the ex. Then in pre release clip while they are walking he keeps saying they know a lot about each other's past and that doesn't work in his favor which gives an illusion that he confessed. And Seok Ryu seems like she awkward, like he confessed. But that's understandable and not a bad thing. But I guess we will have to see what happened.

I understand your perspective but at this point, I don't know if he will have a choice not to confess. If he really confesses from the scene we left on, it would be understandable. Seok Ryu is demanding an answer from him. Of course he can say he has a lot on his mind and he will tell her at a better time. But at this point I don't know if Seok Ryu will take that answer because Seung Hyo has been acting very strange that she needs answers. To be honest I don't know if it's best to wait for a better timing for them because that's what they did before and they missed each other for years. So I say there is no better time than now, haha. Even if the ex is coming.
Seok Ryu can confess without giving her pressure to certain extent. Which I suspect is the route he might go.
He can say to her that he likes her but he doesn't expect her to reciprocate or she doesn't have to give an answer at all now.

We can't fully think that the FL wasn't in love ML. For all we know she could have fallen in love with him first. But that is what the whole journey and fun part of the drama is about, to discover the details and journey of their friendship and relationship. We just have to have patience. Because which writer would want to reveal all the information before the halfmark.

The drama is challenging the idea of what success, accomplishments and happiness is. FL spent her whole life striving for what her mother and outside society deemed as successful and prestigious, to the point she destroyed herself. Now she is seeking something that simply makes her happy not because of imagery or status but happiness. In society cooking is overlooked and deemed as basic compared to things like lawyer. But cooking simply makes her happy. That is the point. The writer probably didn't want to choose a job that society stereotypically deems as prestigious to make a point. Your happiness doesn't have to match the outside expectations of prestige. And I think cooking also still a highly important and commendable job.

Exactly I watch a lot of cdramas too and it does usually take 20 episodes for the leads to get together, sometimes even 30 episodes haha.

People want fastfood dramas nowadays. But where is the journey.
I am all for quick romances and love when confessions happen quicker than slower. But I still will try to have patience to see the story pan out. People's idea of slow is getting shocking to me. Back in the day we will watch dramas for 5 seasons with the main leads not still together and not knowing if the main leads will ever get together, but still loved the journey.
It's before the halfway mark, 10 episodes to go, so there is still time.
Now if it's 2 episodes before the end and they are still not together then I will be on your team haha. 😁

Personally don't think it's coming off fully one side, more so that the writer is leaving us to guess if it's one side, or is she does have feelings too.
But I still think there is a clear hints she might like him too.
We are not half way yet so there is still plenty of time.
Pivotal moments normally happen in the halfway mark.

But I think the vagueness is the point. FL is so good at hiding her emotions. Us audience are wondering is it one sided, does the FL have feelings too. That is what is also keeping people's emotions on edge. It's almost like a mystery.
There is a very high possibility that there is going to be a reveal of when FL liked ML. Their friendship is so long. Spanning 29 years approximately. So there is a very high possibility the writer hasn't revealed everything. Probably didn't want to reveal everything yet.

Episode 5 clearly showed hints of her jealousy and heart flutter for the ML, so personally I think there are hints that she has romantic feelings for the ML.

But I am just glad that she even saw the letter even though he lied it was a joke, at least it put the topic in the air and got the FL thinking.

Makes sense that they need to sort out the ex issue first before the main leads fully sort out their feelings for each other.

In kdrama land sometimes the halfway mark is a pivotal moment. So I am hoping next week there will be a confession.
