The official Weibo post states that the order of the cast is made by the surname brush strokes; it tells you nothing about the story or character's story. For this drama, Deng Wei might be leading in cast order according to the Weibo post, but in the next drama, he could fall to third in the cast order because of surname brush strokes. Cast order by billing order is misleading.
At MDL, we do not go by billing order for MDL cast lists. Our policy in arranging the cast list has always been on not who is billed first, but by who the story is largely centered around and whose perspective it's being told from to reflect the story being told.
*IF no synopsis is added and the drama's story is unknown at the time official cast announcement is made, the cast can be added by how the producers have them listed and correct the order after the title airs, or when a new official synopsis is provided by the producers that determine a change in POV. However, anytime any shifting or re-shuffling of cast order is made, it requires an explanation as to why you feel the character should be higher (or lower) in the order in relation to the story of the drama. Not doing so will lead to rejected submissions.
