Can we take a moment to appreciate the girls in ep 24 and 25th? The way they talked to each other, with tears in their eyes, heartbroken but still caring for each other shows how much they actually mean to each other. I loved JJ and MY chat in ep 24th. It was just plain REAL. The feelings of shame and embarrassment that MY felt, and the fact that she apologised for yelling at JJ previously just shows how mature she actually is. She knows that there is no one to blame but herself, she knows and that's why she stayed away for a while because being her best friend she did not want drama to occur. And the way JJ dealt with the situation was remarkable too. She realized that MY had a right to be angry at her (that's just how emotions work), she didn't put MY down but validated her feelings. They both had tears in their eyes throughout the whole talk, showing just how much this little strife effected them. In ep 25, the same is with TC. Honestly, I'm here for this friendship. It isn't about utter devotion to a single person. Neither is it about being a doormat for the main leads. It is for them living their own individual lives, dealing with their emotions, problems, having fights and quarrels with each other, teasing each other, but in the end still being there to take care of each other.

I would love if that were to happen tbh. I feel like they all are perfect for each other. JJ and LX we already know. I feel like ZQ brings out the realness of My, and MY is the only person aside from JJ that ZQ has ever accepted. For TC, I feel like ZB will be what she needs, (a very normal man to settle her tormented life) and her need for dramatics will be dulled meeting someone as grounded as him.
He will be. He will find his true love. Don't worry.

Even though everyone wants the romance to move forward and the leads to find their perfect partner as soon as possible, the true beauty of this drama will always lie in the beauty of their moments, and the way they so expertly explore each and every character and their respective relationships. In this drama, more than anything else, the best ending will be that every character finds their "self" (ZQ finding his mom and realising that this family that he has found will not break so easily even when they let other people into their lives. LX escaping the clutches of his blood family and realising that in the end only the people that have always been there for him truly matter. JJ to realise that even if the dynamics of their relationships change, and no matter how many years pass she will always love them as it is. MQ to realise that the world doesn't see her the way her mother does, but as a kind and compassionate woman that can make her own decisions, and for her to realise that the best person for her will be the one she can be herself with (aka ZQ wink wink) etc etc) Where they close the tumultuous and uncertain chapter of their youth to move on happily with their adult lives.
Honestly, by watching all those clips I am pretty sure that this will not turn into a love triangle. ZQ and LX's approach is totally different. I like that the romance is not here yet, and first they will allow JJ to come to terms with the whole 'brother' scenario. Otherwise from her point of view it'll be very weird to think of someone as a brother one day and a boyfriend the next. These things must take time, that's how you know in the end it'll be good. Also about ZQ it feels like his story will be centered around his mother, and family, not romance (judging from the Osts). And I DO NOT get all the hate comments about MY under the clips. Of course she could fall in love with someone who has been nothing but sweet to her all her life, and of course she can get the wrong idea when she knows that he has been secretly keeping in touch with her and even asked her to do stuff for him (like find an apartment). He never really made it apparent why he was doing it, so it was extremely probable that she got the wrong idea. And about those comments that ZQ doesn't deserve MY cuz she jumps crushes, I just CAN NOT. Honestly I was glad that her crush on ZQ went away when he was rude to her (which he shouldn't have been, it wasn't her fault that the whole school knew, and that she cared) because I am already tired of fem characters falling for men that are rude to them. (I still love ZQ's character, don't come at me. I'm just explaining an instance) And she fell for LX because he was kind, sweet, and understanding. Also because for the first time she heard someone being appreciative of her as a person. This, especially considering the personality of her mother, would've played a great role in shaping her as a character. Now she is more confident as compared to when she was young (except around her mother, and LX cuz duh). She struck to her love for LX for 9 YEARS. I'm pretty sure that she is not portrayed as a hoe that just jumps any man she sees. I hope that she gets the story line she deserves (being finally free from the clutches of her mom, and finding true love), and is not portrayed as the evil bff that sabotages everything. All the girls live together, they've been friends for nearly a decade now, and they truly care for each other. They're also the people JJ could talk to about her true feelings, when she couldn't with anyone else. If their friendship shatters because of crushes then it will be a very cliché plot hole.
If the drama's romance doesn't pick up a better direction soon it'll be annoying to watch. Ling xiao and JJ. Zique and mingyue. TC and zhang bei. It'll be win win. I don't want it to be a romantic mess, which will ruin their beautiful friendships with each other, especially the three girls, they're so precious together. Idk why there are so many people saying that the characters have a huge difference (8 years are still a lot but not a huge difference compared to goblin and it was the custom in olden times). Maybe they are confusing the characters and the actors.
