Honestly I watch this drama every week and in each episode I fall in love with Gong Myung's character Bi Ryum more and more. Like he totally is that type of character who everyone is mean to so he acts bad but he's actually the cutest little baby and wants to actually help everyone in his own way. Okay maybe I'm overreacting a bit but I just love these kind of characters so much because they're kind of bad ass but still cute and kind of nice and sensitive and just want to be liked. Ugh I like this drama and I LOVE Nam Joohyuk but at the moment the scenes with Bi Ryum are definitely my highlight.
Tbh this drama for me is a perfect combination of bad casting, bad writing, bad directing & bad jokes. The…
I agree on the voice thing. It really bothers me and I don't understand why Nam Joohyuk keeps using this voice because it obviously isn't even his real one (he sounded fine in weightlifting fairy) and it's really annoying tbh
I was a little sceptical in the first few episode but now that I've watched more episodes I'm really into it. So Ah isn't as annoying as she was in the beginning and Habaek becomes more likeable in each episode as well. Moora and Bi Ryum are the highlight of this show so far imo I really like them even though they are kind of portrayed as the bad ones
Honestly I really really like this drama so far but omg it's driving me crazy how we don't know who she will end up with. Like usually the female lead ends up with the first male lead but idk who the first male lead even is. Besides it's weird because both the father and the son like the same girl even though they're both the same age it still doesn't feel right. Also it's such a struggle because I like Hyunjae and Jihoon both but now they're trying to bring MJ into this love triangle which doesn't make sense at all imo since he isn't going to end up with her anyways and two love interests are more than enough. I just would like to know who the first male lead is so that I can at least prepare myself for the final couple because this is literally driving me nuts.
It's so FRUSTATING when you don't know who she is going to end up with so I am like EFF ALL OF THIS…
RIGHT OMG I was literally dying the whole time trying to figure out who the freaking first male lead is because I don't know who she's going to end up with and it's driving me crazy!
Am I the only one who can't hate Gook Du? I just can't hate a character played by Ji Soo lol. Still ship Min Hyeok and Bong Soon tho their chemistry is bomb. But I didn't expect anything else from Park Hyung Sik and Park Bo Young (Both are one of my favorite actors ever)
Honestly I'm trying to like this because I LOVE Song Joong Ki but I'm just not a big fan of melodramas. I'm also not really a big fan of revenge plots so this drama really isn't anything for me tbh and Kang Ma Roo is such a bitch I just can't get over it. But I'll finish it because I get to see Song Joong Ki.
Wait, wait, WAIT. The description says In Gook Doo has had an 'unrequited crush on her since elementary school'?!…
i've read somewhere else though that she is the one who has a crush on him. And considering how they acted towards each other in the first episode it does seem like he is her crush while he sees her as a childhood friend. Although I do hope that he is the one having the crush that would make it much more interesting.
I wanted to say that too! Maybe he doesn't count anymore because he hasn't been very active with his group in the last few years (or maybe the writer just didn't know or forgot)
Honestly, I started this because of Hyung Shik but I couldn't get past the first few episodes. It just was a pain to get through, the first episode was fine, I actually quite liked it but later on it got so freaking boring I just had to stop. Idk if I'm ever going to pick it up again tbh.
I wanted to keep watching this because Louis is probably one of the most adorable characters out there, he's literally like a puppy. My problem with this drama was that I felt like it was really slow. Maybe I'll pick it up again someday but at the moment it's just really boring. I didn't really like Bok Shil, yes she wasn't the typical female lead (that was why I even started this drama) but she was too..plain? Idk how to discribe it like don't get me wrong I mean who doesn't love a relatable female lead the problem with this character was that she was too nice and too naive so that you couldn't even take her serious and it made her less relatable than the usual female lead. I don't think it is a bad drama, It's definitely watchable if you don't expect something more than it is. I personally won't continue watching this for a while. My last critique to this is that the storyline feels like it keeps repeating itself, like they get money, lose it then get money and lose it...again.
PS: I don't know why but I keep forgetting that this is a very recent drama, it gives me 2012/2013 feels.
I'm actually a little surprised by how many people seem to not be enjoying this! I love it so far, the cast…
Now that I've watched all of the episodes I do agree that the storyline can be quite boring but I feel like I'll still like this drama simply because the cast and the friendship between the Hwarangs is very entertaining.
I just watched the 12th episode and I still really like this also I get a little annoyed by all the officials and the queen. I don't know what to think of the princess, I can't decide if she is all bad ass and cool or just another annoying puppet of the queen who doesn't know what to make of herself. The best part of Hwarang is the friendship between them and in the past episode there wasn't much of it (thank god for the cute friendship moments in episode 12) I still really like it and I'm very excited for the next episodes but I really hope they will cut down the scenes of the officials and the queen, I understand that it's part of the storyline but they just keep repeating themselves, like we got it the queen is a bitch and everyone wants to find out who the king is can we move on now? And by the way am I the only one who is utterly in love with Ban Ryu (the character and the actor) I've been a fan of him since the first episode he appeared in. To sum it up: I really really like it so far and I hope they won't mess up the ending.
I'm actually a little surprised by how many people seem to not be enjoying this! I love it so far, the cast is amazing and the story is funny and light at times but also deep and meaningful. The friendship between the boys is what I like most about Hwarang, the romance is cute too. The second lead syndrome is huge with this one tho (I still love the main lead). Definitely worth watching in my opinion.
