7 episodes in and I can probably say this is the second best adaptation of the book. I just loved the original version acted by Johnny and Timmy. While I liked Stay with me, I would like to consider it as completely different series as most of the story was changed to accommodate “bromance” but the series was beautiful never the less. Since Thailand did a great job with F4, I had higher expectations for this series. Since this feels like a more toned down version of the series, even though I like the series, I can’t say that I love it.

Trailers are often times more exaggerated to grab audience attention into watching the series. So you cant come to a conclusion just based on the trailer.
I am not going to comment on what is right or wrong. Before a series is released, it needs to go through censorship and they got to abide by the rules. If its illegal, it wouldn't be released. Also, the story is about high school students. So I don't see anything wrong with a 16/17 acting as a high school student. Also people who are talking about pedophiles, should remember that what they are doing is acting and not real romance. One must know to distinguish between fiction and reality. Also, people who are 16 years of age are really not kids. they are old enough to make their own decisions.

I’m not really sure about how things are. but all I know is China is very strict about the apps and websites that one can access. so there is a high chance that VPN can’t be used. but I can’t confirm that 100%

I think this was not released in China. Else there is no way this would have been approved. Since this was not run through CCB, I dont think they will get affected by it.
