Guys, you have to remember that the Chinese government regulates the number of episodes that the drama will have. So if the studio requested 40 episodes but the government only released 30, the director has to go back and edit the drama again.
So if you see a part of the drama that seems "weird" before criticizing it, remember that the crew had to sacrifice some scenes so that the drama could be broadcast.
Goodbye my princess was released with 52 episodes, then they released the director's cut with 55. I watched both versions simultaneously and 3 episodes made a huge difference to the story.

I've never seen a famous actor return to play a supporting role so naturally they had to change the actor.🤷🏽♂️
