i love petekao so much and was rewatching this again but I will NEVER forgive them for robbing Kao from his huge nerdy glasses he wore in this poster and kiss me 🤛 glasses Kao you will forever be missed
the way they executed the letter scene was so clever in the most angsty way 😭 the production team did so amazing with the switch between narrations, flashback scenes, leaving out a sentence from the narration for the audience to read, etc. and OH MY GOD Junsei and Kenshin are such good actors!!!
i haven't ugly cried in a while but here I was on the floor curled up into a ball sobbing after the episode finished :( kenshin and junsei's acting in this episode especially was phenomenal
its not much of tackling homosexuality but more of tackling usual teenage thing - what do i really feel for him/her…
i definitely think this is more than just that since these two, esp hirukawa have internalized homophobia to overcome (as seen in this and last week's ep) and they both have to come to terms with their sexuality which wouldn't be a thing between heterosexual couples, thus minase in the ep 5 preview saying "are we homosexuals?".
I'm excited about the next episode because I've personally never watched a JBL where a main character explicitly uses the word "homosexual" to describe himself so I'm curious how they'll tackle the topic!! I think it's a great step forward in Japanese society to do this when a lot of viewers aren't a part of the community!
