The plot is ok but delivered bad

I am really sorry to say it but it's started promising and than the last few episodes was lacking, the plot is good, but the editing and the long long scenes make it boring to watch and not to remember, I even forgot what happned in the previous episode to the last one so I need to refresh it , than I go to the last episode and it was so slow I must watch with dubble speed.

The acting of Benz need improvment,I really really sorry to say it, and I hope it will not hurt him, but he have a way to go , need to express his feelings with more than 2 faces, need to go trough some acting class to make him express more because he have more to give.

The only good actor was the big boss, he was the only one that convinced me it's real.

For me it wasn't the car scene that make it not good as it could have been but the flow and the pasted and how it's photograhped, it's really reminds me 2moons2 that was the same slow motion. If you make it slow you need :1. great actors, I mean really the best, so they can make it real. 2. Good editing, good light position, interesting editing that can express the emotions.

It was needed more episodes or faster scnes to connect to fill the story holles, make it look more real, for example maybe the harrasment itself or hints, it comes really as surprising.I didn't see it coming, you need to give some interaction between Tee and the actor.

Overal it could have been a lot better

Failed Imitation: A Lack of Emotional Depth in a Series Losing Its Direction.

It started as a failed attempt at comedy and quickly devolved into melodrama.

From the beginning, I noticed a strong resemblance to screenwriter Kim Eun's ideas, especially since the lead actor starred in two of her successful scripts. The plot appears to focus on a woman's supposed growth, with a secondary romantic element to add interest to an otherwise boring and cliché story of achieving the "American Dream."

In my opinion, the attempt to imitate Kim Eun's script failed, as it looks like a weak copy.

One in eight women on average suffers from some form of cancer, yet this fact has no connection to the beginning of the series. In contrast, Kim Eun's scripts intertwine romance with reflections on a woman's status in conservative Korean society, showing her struggle to break conventions. The romance is essential, woven into the dynamics between partners.

Here, The development feels disconnected and lacks the depth of Kim Eun's approach.

A waste of precious time.

Story
I usually really like these fake marriage plots because they are often full of humor and charm, with something mischievous, exciting, and entertaining. This series failed in all aspects.

Acting/Cast
This is one of the series' main shortcomings. Both actors are terrible, with no chemistry and no charm. The man is not masculine, and the woman is far from feminine. Visually and expressively, they are both extremely dull. You find yourself wondering how the male character ends up liking the female character when she has no charm, looks almost like a man, and dresses, behaves, and appears masculine. On the other hand, he himself is nicknamed "white asparagus" for a reason. He is tough as a nut until the last minute of the series. His appearance is almost Western, which is even more disappointing. Having already watched him in several series, one can only wonder how he lands leading roles.
The supporting characters are uninteresting, and it feels like there is no proper chemistry between them, so I skipped all their scenes.

Rewatch Value
There is no character that goes all the way, pushes boundaries, is brave, or the complete opposite—extremely shy. There is no character who is overly crazy or tough, or with a dark past, something to spice things up. In such plots, there is usually some exaggeration of emotions or characters to a grotesque level. Here, there is none of that. The characters don't understand themselves or each other, they aren't moving, and the development is frustrating and drags to the point where it becomes unbelievable and you no longer want to watch this couple. I completely abandoned it by episode 8. I only got to this episode to see them together, and it was really one of the mistakes that made me regret starting to watch it at all, because even in the last episode, when they are finally a couple, it looks strange, forced, and unpleasant to watch.

A Harsh Look at SKorean Society: Struggling with Love and Tradition

Story 10/10

Beautiful

Two people find themselves falling in love on a spring day, drawn to each other like magnets despite the obstacles in their way. One is in an unhealthy relationship, and the guy is a single father. It turns out that this is a kind of stigma in SKorea.SK is a very conservative and patriarchal country that upholds family values, while in the background, it struggles to Westernize, to become more free and feminist.

Although I knew this and appreciated it, there is also a very negative aspect to it. When you live it up close, it makes you despise it to some extent. It's very hard to balance between normative family values and liberal freedom values. I was surprised that even couples who aren't married have the same status as married couples. The resistance from the family, the environment, the annoying and intrusive interference, are very frustrating issues that are hard for a Westerner to understand. On the other hand, this is why the conservative and religious world loves Asian series and expects this.

If it were a funny romantic series, I suppose it would go down more easily. But when you're shown the realism and the ugly sides of Korean society, it's hard to digest. I suppose through the series, one can understand more about Korean women who suffer a lot, as well as single parents.

The disdain shown towards the single father was unbearable.
They treated him like garbage, as if he had no value, and he also saw himself that way until he couldn't take it anymore. I guess it's supposed to serve as some sort of re-education series for Korean viewers. Look at yourselves up close. That's why you see all the seemingly boring conversations between the couple's friends and between the couple and their families, and even at work with colleagues and managers. Every conversation has the significance of the weight of separation, the desire to feel valuable in a very closed and conservative society. Even though I knew this, I didn't imagine how hard it could be for these people who choose to deviate from the path.

Music 1/10

The music is horrible, unbearable, and ruined a lot of the viewing experience for me. I skipped many scenes just because of it, especially romantic scenes that I would have loved to watch if not for that dreadful music. They remind me of Chinese songs in their nature—uninspired and repetitive. Usually, indie films use folk music as if it were some elite and unique style, but the opposite is true. If it were Korean folk music, it might be forgivable. Here, you are watching a hardcore Korean movie and expecting to hear Korean music in the background, and then they bring you uninspired American music.

Actors 10/10

The two actors are beautiful and talented, and there was great chemistry between them. The lead actor has a baby face. He's not the manly type, but he's definitely charming, romantic, and cute. You can see the process of them growing closer to a relationship, and it's very heartwarming. They are convincing. All the other actors are excellent.

Rewatch Value 9/10

If not for the music, I suppose I would watch it again. I skipped episodes 14 and 15 because people wrote that these episodes are depressing. Maybe I'll watch them later.

One in a million

If you watched a lot of romance in your life, a longggg list, you will really appriciate this drama, so much that will not forget it ever, this is one of those drama that giving you tears just to think it's over, it is so good, so lovable.

the reviews didn't make it a justice, because probably they are teens that didn't watched a lot of drama, some of them looking for a skin ship, others look for fast meal, it is not a fast meal, it is a traditional japanese tv drama, but now with gay theme. it's is something very very new.

there were gay drams before it, I've watched them all for years. but not like this one. they were more for fluffy love, for a girl young audience, those with the bl mangas , like in "OSANAS love" If you like Osana's I guess you will not like it, it is more older couple , ordinary, real life, with hardship and not so likable things, for example when one side is passive and appologising all the time, the other one is tough and doesn't want to get out of the closet,
IT IS -R_E_AL.. its the deal here.

You can watch it even 3-10 times, every year or 2 you want rewatch it and find another level of understanding. because like the reviews here are not mature to understand things, most reviews are from teens that doesn't get it.

The colture are different, and you can not compare Japanese drama to the Thai dramas, They are just differente and yes you need to be connected to their mind or their thing. Japanese like Art, beauty, they are very clean in thinking and down to earth, for example they doesn't even miss one spot that isn't in the right place, the angles the colors, the food they are showing, It is very pricice, second, they trying very hard not to follow other styles, like South Korean they have their own game.

Second chance and Lay Talay Sanguandikul

I tried to watch it when it was aired and i couldn't because it's look to cheezy for me, but last week i was bored so i try to watch it again, and i really like this drama from second chance. i think that it doesn't give good first impression.

story-
stroy is very cliche and simple, nothing new - it's evolve around student gays couples , there is the slave king character and the good friend that doesn't confess, there is also the guy that can't realise he is inlove or something. everyone have an isuue, but what i like about it that it's natural, not some melodrama and complex, just ordinery fluffliness.

Acting
maybe i will edit it later, but most of them don't have so much acting skills. i think that Cooper is the best here and also Handsone Lay ,even better, there is something about him, he remind me of River Phoenix , the look in general and also the acting, he have some deep skills. but he also can't deliver it to the end because he didn't had a partner at all (Perth really bad actor) and also the script or the procucing didn't help him so much. at the end i think he was the shining star in this drama really.

i didn't like Poy acting, there were just one moment that he play himself, not some stupid kid but there was amoment at first, but most of the time he lookss stupid and it's not his fault, it's because they want him to play younger than his age, like 14 -15 teen...

I didn't understand why Ryen was dubbed...it's just ruined everything, he was cute but the dubbing just ruined it.
Boss and Mek was for me the most interesting couple, i think they were cute until the end,

i didn't like Shane and Md, everything about those twoe looks fake, like they are 2 models that try very hard...

Over all it's very sweet drama i like that there is not so much drama and suffering and everything is open and normal, like it's normal to be gay and not so special, they present it as if there is no complex or questions about it, it's nice, i know there are a lot of bl drama like this, but here it's extremly fun and normal,

to those who watche the first it's worth watching.
now they after 3 years of relationship
the plot is quite cliche, there are a lot of scenes that i skiped, they were really boring, but the main couple is really adorable and have chemistry. they belivble,
i think the Tom girl is just so adorable i want to watch her again and again...she is very cute although she gain more skills she still not so good actress but she is beautiful and cute, you believe her that she is pure in heart

there is a tamptation in the movie when she found someone else that fell inlove with her, i think it's very authentic, it's somehow not like others drama when it happenes.
because i watched a lot of romance i know it, the difference is that the other girl called "YAM" is not evil, she is just cute and you like her even at the end, she let go, not holding Tom.
i think the movie success is the message of lasting love, you believe there is pure love like this
i cry and i can relate to "YAm" more than the others, but still i hoping to feel some of their love, so i think it's really pure in heart, you can feel the producer is really trying here.

the con in this movie is that there is no real kiss...i was really dissapointed at the end, but never the les is good movie and worht watching

Story
It's a story about love, there is not much plot but the sweet thing you don't just see the typical couple romance "how they met and in the final they kissed" it's more like you see the developing of their love and you go trough the journey until they even live together in a relationship until they get married.
I've skip most parts not include them together- their have a perfect chemistry between them, it look real and genuine so i like to watch only them, maybe the other couple would have been interesting but i didn't like the actors...so i pass.

The music is not my cup of tea it's just one song repeat itself, and the song is very boring and not creative.they could have adding more music more songs to make it better.

The cast - like i said the couple- love their acting they are really good at this kind of rolls.
also the family are good.

overall, it was high quality not only the filming and the cast but the developing of the scenes and the way you can relate and connect to them and even miss them when it's already end.

24 episode in just couple of days i like it a lot and at first i can say for sure they copy al ot from Koreans, the vibe the filming the looks the feeeling.. i know the specific scenes. but yet it was worth it i guess

Shallow Plot, Unbearable Characters, and a Waste of Time to Watch

Actors

Both lead actors look great, and one of the reasons I wanted to watch was because I like the lead actor.

Music

The music is terrible.

Plot

The plot is shallow and particularly irritating.
It feels strange from the start, with no real context or realistic elements.
Instead of facing new challenges, the story keeps bringing back past characters, especially exes.
The constant reappearance of past characters is very frustrating, as it avoids dealing with other difficulties and challenges.

Characters

Both main characters are unbearable.
The female lead is a pathological liar, making it hard to understand why anyone would fall for her. She's a people-pleaser at any cost, which I find completely unappealing. I have no patience for such characters.
Her character doesn’t wise up or grow, and from what I gathered, she keeps lying, so it didn’t interest me.
The male lead is equally insufferable due to his passive nature—he never takes responsibility or direct action, always relying on deception.

Overall
The first half is decent and somewhat entertaining, but from the second half, when the ex returns, it becomes unwatchable unless you skip most scenes. I would have skipped watching it altogether and wouldn’t recommend it.

I gave the series a second chance after 4 years.

Story:

Nothing New Under the Sun, a funny and routine Japanese romance. It includes ALL possible tropes (serious car accident, one partner being ill and the other taking care of them, love triangle, stalker, one of the partners needing to study abroad, the shared futon forcing them to get closer, amusement park, the infamous ice cream accident, everything, everything, everything).

It is very reminiscent of the series "They Kiss Again" with the clumsy, unintelligent woman who makes mistakes and falls in love with an intelligent, apathetic, and even somewhat mean doctor. In the end, after much persistence and tireless efforts, she captures his heart.
Is it possible to capture the heart of someone out of our league? It is only possible in Asian movies.

Christian and educational aspect seen in Japanese series, and it is evident here as well. This worked well up to episode 6, combining humor and excitement, butterflies in the stomach, and tears, as it is still a hospital drama and something always happens.

As you grow older, you realize that the figure of the Virgin Mary( FL) represents the qualities that will bring you love and blessings in life. On the other hand, as you age, it becomes increasingly difficult to accept this figure because you discover your own flaws and your inability to be like the Virgin Mary, even when you try very hard. This can create frustration, and it’s intriguing to think about how the average Japanese person feels when this is constantly imposed on them. It's not easy. On the other hand, you can't judge it because a person (at least a normal one) aspires to this highest good.

Actors:

The actors are excellent, the main actor less so; he has moments where he feels like a manga character more than necessary, but later he loosens up.
The lead actress is excellent.
They have electrifying chemistry and are very compatible in the intimate scenes; it is noticeable to the extent that it is hard to understand why because it's a very handsome guy and a cute and average girl, not feminine, very unkempt. She very much resembles the actress Yoon Eun Hye at the beginning of her career, especially her smile, but the Korean actress was really attractive and appealing, she had something very feminine about her. In contrast, the Japanese actress is not attractive at all, and her clothing is not appealing either. But it's also something beyond that makes her physically less attractive. This is not accidental and comes up in one of their scenes.

Music:

The music is excellent, very invested and beautiful in various scenes; it works great. Towards the end, less so, and this happens a lot when they start overusing the main song just to play it.

Can you rewatch it? Yes, you can.
I think only their intimate scenes are worth rewatching because they are both full of passion and humor.

What doesn't work as well?

The endless collection of tropes and the continuous educational series that goes on and on, reaching the point where it becomes tedious and you have to skip scenes, until it really becomes a bit tiresome, which is a shame because until episode 6, it kept the flame alive. But from episode 7, there were scenes that should have been skipped, especially the car accident and the long study trip. It wasn't executed gracefully enough to watch like at the beginning. This series is not timeless; it also does not feature anything special except for the cute moments between them. I don't think they are capable of breaking out of their tropes, but still, I think that if there are already tropes, they should have added more lightness.

This series was supposed to be dark

Story:

I tried watching it in 2015, and it didn't work. This time, I finished the series, and these are my conclusions.

In my opinion, this series was supposed to be completely dark, or at least more grotesque and artistic, something that would highlight the improbable storyline.

Because the girl actually disappeared for real and stayed in the guy's heart with regret. This could have been a beautiful drama if it ended with the understanding that you can't turn back time, just like all his dreams; it was all one long dream.

It didn't work as a comedic drama Because it wasn't funny enough. There were certainly very beautiful scenes, like the dreams, which were funny and creative, but there weren't many funny scenes. Sometimes you feel like you're watching a children's movie and sometimes an adult one other times it's just boring. This actually happens in many Japanese series, but because there was no comedic value, it couldn't bridge the gap at all.

Acting:

The girl's acting was not good or convincing at all. She had two critical scenes where she had the chance to showcase her acting skills and turn it into an amazing scene, but she failed. In both scenes where he told her he didn't love her, at the beginning and about halfway through, she missed the mark.

Music:

Debussy's music was beautiful at the beginning. but then it disappeared completely. The opening song was not good either.

Moving and tear-jerking, a love that is out of this world.

Story
A rather simple and typical story, childhood love, terminal illness—things we've seen a lot in Japanese films. But still, the story keeps you glued to the screen without a dull moment.

Acting/Cast
Although I think the lead actor isn't the best there is, the one who truly stands out is the lead actress, one of the most excellent and beautiful actresses in Japan. It's very likely that she is the one who made the film what it is, and she was irreplaceable.

Rewatch Value
There's something fantastical about this movie, very nostalgic. At the end of the 20th century and the first decade of the 21st century, Asian films were sort of a reconstruction of the 1980s in the USA films with a love larger than life that you could still believe in.

Coffee & Vanilla Type

Story
When there is no plot, the series needs to have significant advantages. In this case, there is nothing that can make up for the lack of a plot.

Acting
Since the 2019 Coffee & Vanilla wave, the casting quality has dropped to almost zero. The lead actress is stunning and looks like a doll, but her facial expressions are identical throughout all the scenes. The funniest part was in one episode when the man describes how he loved the faces she made, and then when they show her expressions, you see they are all the same—just wide eyes and raised eyebrows. It's really frustrating when they cast such a beautiful actress.
We also have an actor whose only facial expression is pursing his lips forward, even in an entire episode dedicated to him. If he were more masculine without such feminine lips, it would be less distracting. However, it never could have worked with him from the start because he has no acting skills and looks too feminine to convincingly portray forced masculinity.

Music
My guess is that it had a very low budget, which is why there wasn't much music. A nice piano melody played throughout the series, but it didn't have any real musical value.

Rewatch Value
Japanese series are usually accompanied by emotional depth or intelligent logic, and above all, there is always a message behind everything, even if it seems forced and feels too "educational." In this case, the characters are very flat, without development, emotion, intelligence, or facial expressions—they are paper characters. It makes sense for someone to feel too old due to lack of experience, and it even makes sense for her to become attached to the person she is experiencing things with, but the question is how to convey something when there is no dialogue, or at least how to emotionally engage the viewer without dialogue, monologue, or even facial expressions. Apparently, this is an impossible task. The only goal of this series is to show her in a bra. Honestly, it could have worked better if there was some added value like humor or extreme silliness that could justify the stupidity in the lack of plot.

Mixed feelings.

There mixed feeling from my side but also from the all plot.

Yhe movie itself produced very well, you can drown into the scene, feel every moment, i really liked it a lot, the way they film it , the tenssion, the waiting . everything was perfect like a really good japanese classic film should be.
But.. i have mixed feelings and after i read the other reviews i understand more why.

The actors are not have perfect chemistry, they are good actors, especially the old one, but i feel the young actor is not enough into the character, and maybe it's not his fault, the plot itself is lacking,it's half story, not so mature story, and you figure out that it's based on manga probably for teens, it can't be deep enough to fill a full movie plot, the is a conflict- in one hand the production is in really high quality, artistic, and other hand- the plot is lacking, there are holls...it could not carry the weight of the production.

the moments of the couple are very good, they are passionet, you don't need the kiss to feel the passion, but still again- conflicts.

It's one of those drama like "replay 1997" that you can see a young writer who bring new and refreshing simpe warm heart story.

You can see that Even it's pass 14 years from then it is still one of the best what is indicate that it's good drama
