There is no denying the main motivation was for LSS, but I think it's important to acknowledge how his Master and sect had also made an impact on TTJ. By the end of the drama, TTJ truly wanted what was for the best for everyone. I guess it didn't help how many scenes were cut, so that message wasn't as explict for viewers.
