Only three more episodes to go. I came this far, might as well finish it (I couldn't even watch episode 9 in one…
I stopped about 25 minutes in after willing myself to continue just to see what drama they cook up next with a few episodes left... and ultimately failing to convince myself. LOL
When that ominous music started playing when they were kissing on the bow of the yacht, I had a momentary hope…
LOL, I too wondered what tragedy might befall the couple at the odd music transition, with high key hopes the forthcoming business time might get super serial sexy. But then I just wanted them to stop. And then I stopped. Today's episode remains unfinished. π
I've finally reached a BL knowledge level where I immediately recognized 5 out of the first 6 actors listed and without cheating could name at least one show they've been in. 6/6 is next! #lifegoals
As a 43 year old woman I am bitterly disappointed in myself for being drawn in by these teenagers! Acne!? Really??…
I also thought the misleading was based on something much worse, though I couldn't for the life of me imagine what it might be since the filter didn't really cover much up in the first place. Even AFTER the filter was taken off, I squinted at the screen trying to figure out what was different about Boss. My brain was looking for a scar/tattoo/disfigurement, etc. It wasn't until Tono gave rule #2 that the lightbulb clicked on.
Just finished this 5 minutes ago. Gotta go with the echo chamber hereβwhat did I just watch?
Seriously took me until halfway through the last episode to understand what was going on. My response was (in the most nasally, irritating tone)... but whhhhhhhyyyyyyy.
Even with the low budget and terrible acting, enough with the poorly delivered English, frenemies-to-lovers is kinda my thing, so I was into this. And then I wasn't. πππππππππ
I think it's supposed to "add" drama and angst between the leads or something so they can start to realize their…
Man, now I hate the seme/uke dynamic even more. To be clear, I have nothing against, and even sometimes enjoy, a small dude/big dude romance. It's when there's a clear emotional power imbalance that takes advantage of the physical imbalance that drives me nuts. Plus the not-so-subtle homophobia and misogyny.
I mostly stopped watching het Asian romances because even the "strong" women were poorly portrayed in comparison to the men. Don't need that in BL as well. π

I think the 1/2 of a couple being highly resistant to physical intimacy (in an attempt to be cute??) trope bothers me so much. I don't love the accidental kiss either, but I'd rather be rolling my eyes then wincing. π
I love this review and am so glad someone else loved this series too! Already missing the dudes and already considering a rewatch even though the show just ended.
Power imbalances, especially revolving around characters' livelihoods/survival, usually make me cringe, but I definitely did not pick that up here. As Rak said multiple times, he can separate work from personal stuffs. I can't say the same about Diao though, lol!
If RakDiao must be compared to the seme/uke trope, then they put all semes/ukes to shame! Diao actually has a backbone, Rak is actually just an overall nice person who genuinely cares about Diao, and both dudes actually contribute to the relationship. One might point out how quiet Diao was in the last few episodes, but I say look at how much he talked for most of the season! Poor guy probably lost his voice π.
Finally, Rak's face, body, and personality just make my brain so happy, while Diao slightly terrifies me when he smiles, looking like a Loki gremlin with wheels turning on where and when to strike next, hahaha!
I heard the rumors about the show getting cut short because of disappointing ratings, but am still hoping for a season 2!
The good thing about this series is that Toh and his friends know itβs not ok to collect things and the show…
Nuuuuuu, we have to wait until next week! I hope the tears and angry face are a red herring since I've always felt like Nuea has had an inkling about Toh's secret (or at least should be this point)
In my opinion, Nuea has a plan, whether it will be public or private (only a discussion with Toh), but something…
I assumed the showrunners were trying to affect a reaction from the viewers by showing Sky calling to check on Jao immediately after discovering the photo/comments and Nuea acting like no big deal.
Nuea knows, or I would hope know by this point, that Toh is insecure. Not immediately checking in with Toh at the first opportunity could be seen as a tad callous. However, I agree that there's something underlying this plot line and Nuea's reaction shouldn't be taken at face value.
I really don't get some of the comments in here.. Are you all perfect? All actions, all decisions you've ever…
I feel viewers reacting to Nuea not reacting is exactly what the director/writers were going for. The focus on Sky immediately calling Jao while sitting next to Nuea was a little too coincidental. Just waiting for the other shoe to drop. π
I'm going to say the actor might be a sweetheart. It's the character. What he has is stalker behaviour. I mean,…
I think my dislike is heightened by the pairing of this type of overbearing CEO with a fairly submissive love interest. The bathtub scene almost squeezed tears of frustration out of my eyes because I thought the stereotype was going to be thrown out the window.
I think I need a spunky, sassy (but not mean) love interest to balance out the rudeness of the overbearing CEO.
I'm confused. So many bad comments and low ratings here but SO many views on every EP on youtube. Are people watching…
To echo everyone else, the show is super cringe. But it's also hilarious and entertaining. I would have dropped it at episode 3 if hadn't known about the impending spicy scenes. Said scenes are now over and I still look forward to each episode. Toh has become one if my favorite characters in BL (for the most part), which surprises even me.
There are a whole lot of things I don't like (like an entire side couple and even Nuea sometimes), and many things I do like. Just gotta find your own balance when watching the this very fictional show. As in, SCOY isn't real life and should be viewed as fantasy.

One of my most anticipated scenes!
