I do that too. After watching many historical dramas, I start watching the episodes close to the ending. Once it keeps me interested then I go back. That has kept me from wasting my time.

This is a great drama. I loved all the fight scences, they were awesome (I had to replay some). The soundtrack/music was great. The romance and humour was great. I believe that Ruyi and Ning are alive. They showed the academy before Chu Yue met Ning Shisan and Ning Shisan mentioned the academy so I believe they are both alive but all the others died. Yuan Lu's death was the hardest. 6 episodes of tears - so brace yourself from Ep 35 - 40.

I'm really enjoying this drama so far - at episode 15. It has a blend of everything: humour, comedy, excellent fight scenes ,romance, good soundtrack wow. Story of Kunning Palace if still my favorite - it kept me on the edge of my seat. I had to stop halfway and wait until the end before continuing.

At least you tried. To me Season 2 is way better than Season 1. I hope you can at least watch a few episodes of Season 2. I really loved the character played by Ling Buyi. The drama itself is a really good production.

I had to put this on hold until I knew the ending!!!! Now I can finally continue watching from where I left off no matter what happens cause I know the ending is a happy one!!!!!

Agreed, I'm all for the romance in these historical dramas. Thank God the ending of this drama turned out good. A lot of these dramas end sad!!! They give us a sweet romance between the leads and then one dies at the ending. I have to watch the ending first before i proceed because Scarlet Heart Ryo (Moon Lovers) left me crying a river of tears.

I'm in agreement with you. I just don't understand why A LOT of Chinese dramas have to end in sadness!!!!!

I don't really like fantasy dramas of this kind. I started to watch episode 1, only got like 15/20 mins into the drama then dropped it because it seemed to fantasyish. However, on another day I decided to watch episode 2 and I'm glad I did - it kept me wondering what was gonna happen next. This drama was good. The plot was good (the ending rushed), the soundtrack amazing and played at the right moments (*butterflies*), it had a lot of funny moments and I loved the main leads. I really loved how JiuChen protected Lingxi. I love the episodes where JiuChen and Jingxiu were fighting over Lingmo (Lingxi) in the mortal realm, those moments were hilarious. This is a good romance drama. So because of this was good and kept me interested I decided to watch Eternal Love (Ten Miles of Peach Blossom). This drama started okay but I find after the teacher died Mo Yan things went down hill and then the plot was not making sense to me. I'm now at Episode 15 and have been skipping through from Episode 7/8 so it's not keeping me interested so I'll drop that.

In agreement!!! To many C dramas have leads that are childish and immature and I always say that is not realistic.
