there is something OFF about the actor playing Jin Hwan. Like something behind his eyes tells me that he kinda don't wanna act in this drama but it is a good gig for his career or sth.

I don't think I can continue to defend this series haha. Ep 9 have so many random moments that came out of nowhere and this episode really make all the writing flaws stand out.

With that being said, seeing Wang Zhan trying to force a tear out is quite funny and I was entertained 🤣

you are right about the series being a light fun watch for sure! I guess I just want it to be good because Mandarin is my first language, so I am more critical on it. There is something amiss that I could not put my finger on it for now but I will still continue the series x

I'm actually quite surprise that many people like this 😮 there is something amiss about this show - like I can already tell from these two episodes that the writing this going to be all over the place and the acting is just.......

I must say props to the actors trying to carry this writing.. nonetheless I still enjoyed watching the show maybe because it is in my first language 😅

Small details like the awkward cutting and random music queuing can be improved but I can see what the director's intentions were.
Overall the actors did a fantastic job~
Shao Peng entire family are cuties and Zi Xiang needs to be protected at all costs!
Secondary couple is a fun time!
The main 'villain' played by Nat Chen motivations are rather unclear and out of nowhere (coming from someone who is fluent in Mandarin) but nonetheless he made it work haha. 😂
On the other hand I thoroughly enjoy the secondary 'villain' played by Yu Fan! 😈
Ep 13 is really the crash course whereby everything pans out. A part of me hope that it can be spread to the other episodes so that it can have a better flow.
But with that being said there is something about the imperfections that kind of made everything perfect at the same time!

this is the BEST Japanese BL drama imo! Ep 11 is my favourite as it depicts the reality of LGBT people like me face.
Be it friends or family, it is not as easy to come out to them even though we have known them for years and years.
The fear of rejection is really dire and a constant challenge for us especially in countries where our sexuality are deem to be abnormal and we will face criticism just because of it.
Sure, we got the choice to choose who we want to surround ourselves with but in reality it is really not an easy feat and comes with lots of sacrifices.

I can understand your passion in wanting realism but the writer chose to express her work in a more simple and less complicated way like this. There are plenty of drama that can curb your thirsty cravings so calm down Mary.

I agree! I think people need to realise that all kinds of people exist in the world and just because they have not met such people doesn't mean they don't exist.

if you have read many manga the main characters Mamiya, Sahashi and Nanjo are the standard trope authors use in BL because these characters are easy to understand and write a drama around them. That doesn't mean I didn't enjoy the actors' chemistry! So for the people who are complaining about the characters please take a chill pill, touch some grass, don't take things personally and enjoy the show.

the way the drama was shot felt like I was reading a manga. Like the thought voiceovers reminds of those little thought bubbles and every pause is like a different panel 🤣

I get why people are complaining it being slow but that's kinda the charm of the drama though.
