Hi Is this Zhang Xuan the same as this one (https://baike.baidu.com/item/%E5%BC%A0%E7%92%87/9315) because her birthdate is not the same, even her profile picture is different. Also I cannot seem to verify your version of Zhang Xuan anywhere else.
I am in the midst of updating my library and discovered that many of my favorite short dramas have been bought over by IQIYI. This is not a bad thing in itself, however IQIYI is currently only allowing them to be aired in China and not all regions!
Loved the story but the ending leaves me wanting more. Checked on the comments and read that it is due for a season 2 (which is supposedly underway) but have not heard anything else since. Can someone please confirm? Also, is this an adaptation from a manhwa or webnovel? If it is can someone please share the link?

Actually from the start it’s CWD against the bad people of the court which is the Marquis, Wu Lang the prime…
Thanks for the clarification, I think I missed the part where he has spies in the Longxian army. I may re-watch that part but TBH I am too invested in other dramas currently to chase this one.
Sigh…Another C-drama romance which has lost it’s way. I had great exectations for this drama given the humurous and entertaining start but it seems to have lost its plot - becoming confusing and mired in needless political entanglements.
Here are my pet peeves (listed in order of irritation):
Peeve 1: Confounding battle lines - I cannot for the life of me brain the different battle sides or understand the logic of having an army fighting two sides of the same battle. From the start there were 2 foes - the Beizhou army led by General Chen and to Longxian Army by General Wan. But then further on General Chen appears at the school bearing the tally of the Longxian army announcing himseldf as a captain of the Longxian Army - Did he steal or forge that tally? Or is he part of a intricate plot to break the stranglehold of the corrupt ministers?
Peeve 2: Disappearing bethrothal - Why did everyone conveniently forget that Moxi was bethrothed to General Chen to be his concubine? How come it was never mentioned again especially after his invasion of Qingzhou and the envoys were forcing him to marry Fengyao?
Peeve 3: Holier than thou attitudes - Fengyao has it in spades and it is nauseatinng. She keeps nagging Moxi about taking advantage or using people and behaving in a more ladylike manner - as if that is going to keep them safe or fed in times of war!
Peeve 4 - The becoming of a shrew - Moxi’s shrewish behaviour and treatment of General Chen has graduated from entertaining and amusing to disgusting for me. She is outright disrespecting and disobeying him to a point of endangering his soldiers and her maids. She hass forgottent that he has come to her aid and rescue many many times and instead still hold General Wan dear to her heart even though he has broken his promises and abandoned her many times. She is ungrateful and rude.
I have watched this drama till episode 30 and cannot continue it anymore. I may watch the final episode when it airs just to find out its ending.
IMO she is a good romcom actress. She emotes well on camera and is one of the few chinese actresses who makes clingy look good. She cries well and comes off as charming even when she is acting brattish.
HOWEVER, I really do wish that she or her voice actor can learn to speak more clearly. I think most chinese actors and actresses can do with lessons in elocution and voice projection. She tends to mumble and eat her words or speak in a nasally tone which is unpleasent to hear.
