It's really stupid that getting married is a controversy and that people were so upset. Let the man live and be happy! This article shows the attitude that fans have had, some even abandoned him. He and his wife are so sweet and can be seen on the show Mr. House Husband. I can't believe they're financially struggling cause stupid fangirls cant accept the fact that he married her not them.
I'm so in love with the Thai version, don't know why it took me so long to watch that gem! Now I want…
Doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime soon. It was put on hold when Eli got into a media controversy. It's completely done, in post-production but likely won't be released for YEARS if ever :(
since I won't get through 12 episodes of it anyways, can you spoil me how it gets rolling and what happens…
Well, to give context, Kim Shin and Eun Tak are a couple by episode 12. Grim Reaper turns out to be the king who had Kim Shin killed, Sunny is his sister so he stops being friends with GR and Sunny decides to stay away from GR. By the end of episode 13, it is realized that Kim Shin can only save Eun Tak from dying again and again if he dies (and ends her role as a Goblin's Bride). After an encounter with the ghost of the right hand man of the King, to save ET, he has her pull out his sword and vanishes into ashes. Everyone that knows Kim Shin has their memories partially erased and the memory of a Goblin ever existing is gone (this is done by God to be "merciful" to everyone). Before her memory fades, ET writes a quick note in a diary stating "Don't forget Kim Shin. You're his bride. He's tall and beautiful, and has a sad smile. Don't forget you're his bride. Don't forget".
Ten years go by but ET, despite losing her memories, still feels an emptiness within her, something that is amplified whenever it rains or snows. Mind you, Kim Go Eun's acting in ep 13 and 14 is SUPERB. Since she has no memory of Kim Shin, she finds it weird that she has a note in her diary with her own handwriting but no memory. In the correct circumstances, it's the first snow and she blows out a candle, asking anyone to save her from her hellish mental state. Kim Shin (who was in a limbo after refusing to enter heaven as a protest to the God for taking him away from his love) is summoned finally and they're drawn to one another but ET quickly pulls away, confused why looking at this man makes her heart throb and cry. No one remembers KS except the GR who has to keep all his memories as punishment for what he did as king. KS is brought home by GR and KS starts his slow courtship of ET (now as adults) under the name of Yoo Jae Shin. They start semi-dating and ET, still wondering who Kim Shin is and why she would be his bride. She gets a letter from Canada (the one you see her writing in ep 4) and it's her writing stating that she's happy and in love. Confused more now, she goes to Canada.
KS also shows up (via the red door) and "bumps" into her there. Its all cutesy and he quickly realizes that he's the man that he saw in his own vision in the earlier eps. Afterwards, ET goes to the fountain in ep 4 and sees a maple leaf while triggers her memories. She gains all of them and cries out for KS, using a candle to summon him, they kiss and reunite. She goes back to Korea via a flight, he meets her at the airport and sexy times ensue. Happiness and dates, he proposes to her not as the Goblin's bride but as his first and last love. They get married and right after the honeymoon, on her way back from work, she's on the phone with him and gets struck by a truck (death continues to find her as she's born as the Goblin's bride of course and is a missing soul). This episode is an emotional rollercoaster and even now, if I rewatch, I can't stop bawling. He has to say goodbye, she promises to be reborn and come to find him. About 120 years go by and he leaves Korea cause she's not coming. He goes to Quebec and is reading a book, wearing his wedding gift from ET when we see a young ET again in a high school uniform. She is reborn as Park So Min and she asks if he knows who she is. He replies "My first and last bride" and it ends with the fresh hope of their new lives together.
In case you're wondering what happens w/ GR and Sunny, they stay apart for this life and when they're reborn (she's an actress, he's a crime analyst), they get together. KS comes across both at some point and is happy that his sister and best friend are finally happy together.
My recommendation is if you don't want to watch all of it, watch ep 12-16. It's really good and my summary doesn't reflect on how amazing it really was.
Most of the people who dislike this show dropped it before it got really good. Episode 12 is where the ball starts rolling and from then on, it's a rollercoaster.
Gong Yoo watching Train To Busan or Kim Go Eun saying "Oh yeah, I don't speak Chinese" when she's lived in China for her childhood in Goblin were Easter Eggs too
is this like PERFECT WIFE?and Kim Sun Ah the crazy woman in it? i've been wanting to watch this but I am…
It's not a daily, it's only 20 episodes (2 a week) and neither is it a housewife drama. It's more like the struggle between a badass woman and KSA who wants to be like her. I think the unique thing about this show is that even all the bad guys (KSA, the in law family, the company members) don't feel evil. I find myself sympathizing with KSA quite a bit and the cheating husband is even hilarious enough that you don't hate him. Give it a chance, it's definitely not what you're thinking.
Well , i'm hesitating to watch this one ... Is it worth it ?
It's one of those amazing shows that you can't even hate the bad guys cause theres such a mixture of mystery, dark humour, etc. I've never seen a show like it and I'm IN LOVE. Warning, episode 7 is where your love for this show will grow ten fold. Just stick by it cause the ride so far has been worth it!

KSA does a great job at being the crazy antagonist. KHS is also REALLY badass and you'll love her character, believe me. Both ladies have done a great job in the drama and you'll really like the way things work out.

Honestly, it's not even the kissing or intimacy that's bothering me. If this show was good with the writing and acting, I'd be okay with minimal intimacy. But it sucked more than a vacuum! It was legitimately one of the stupidest shows I've seen all year, hands down. I LOVED the original Goong and never once did I compare the two cause every show should be given an equal and fair chance but this show made me SO mad. Pattie should quit acting or at least take a few years off, go to uni, learn how to act. There was no reason to cast her and certainly no reason to allow her leeway to make demands like "no kiss" clauses.
Thank God this catastrophe is over. From the creators of Full House Thai and Kiss Me, I would have expected a million times better. What was SO special about Pattie that they casted her, WITH A NO KISS CLAUSE? She sucked, kiss clause or not. Poor Tao for having to try to carry this show and fake kiss his own thumb every time. Some shows are better not airing at all, this was one of them.
Watched this on Netflix today. Despite the historical inconsistencies (like someone knowing "cut" which is clearly an English word), it was short, cute, and what I needed after the sad/bittersweet endings of Scarlet Heart and Splash Splash Love. The main couple had SO much chemistry, it was on fire! I googled them right after and turns out they were on WGM. This lead to me watching their WGM episodes and HOT DANG! 10/10
