no i heard they wanted to cast traffic star as ml from the start and according to his fans (you can search his fans post on weibo or in X) xinli media wanted him from 3 years ago and all these three years,they were writing the script .So if it's true then all of those casting melons of traffic actresses or other less traffic male stars must be fake.

Even during LLTG WL's traffic wasn't same as now.He has more traffic now than that time ,so if it was him now ,I would have felt the same concern and the main thing is most of QSCK's novel is too female centered than many female centric novels(except rebirth of a star general where the ml.had many parts ),even romance isn't the main focus .XJX has highest 30% part where WHD has a huge fanbase beside WYB among the 95's actors and we all know how toxic fanwar is when it comes to billing issue or screentime which already started .Xinli seems to focusing more on traffic which is why they wants him and definitely they won't keep this character like the novel .Also even if they increased his part that won't be equal to the female lead so the only option to make him more important is to turn it into male centric.
Even if it turns out good to drama fans ,still chinese novel fans won't be satisfy with it if they change the center of the plot because it would be disrespect to the og story and not everyone can differentiate drama and novel .So i better to pass this one if all of these melons turn out to be true 😂

There are a large amount of Chinese novel fans who doesn't even want a adaptation . I think it's mostly because of Rong Zhi. Even though i didn't read the novel ,i know who Rong Zhi is.He is the male lead of untouchable lovers and also said to be the novel girlie's first white moonlight before XJX but the adaptation turned out to be bad .After that he became e meme material whenever any popular historical novel gets an adaptation people would brought his name 🤣

it was filmed in Q2 of 2021 and they are releasing it after so many years ?😵‍💫

i felt kinda funny when i saw people in X fighting saying that the screenwriter of Lotfg has a beef with this,that character and liked this and that even dragged the artists lol😂
because in my pov the screenwriter didn't even understand any character from the novel lol.
I have the same fear that they will make the triangle heavy in this one .
And yes Chu Zhao wasn't any saint in the novel as well but he wasn't like such a delusional ,hypocrite ,psycho like the drama which even looked forced to me.In the novel i hated him only in Ying Xiang's arc,in that part I really wanted to punch him and he got what he deserved ,lifetime loneliness . The drama team wanted to make it a typical triangle ,main leads loved each other and sml wanted to separate them blah blah ,and i don't want to talk about the butchering of the main plot .Anyway even though i lost 90% hope but with the remaining hope i wish they won't do such a mess with this one .

i don't know why they didn't include comedy in the genre ,but the novel was more of comedy instead of heavy angst like other xianxia

i said in first part of my comments that ,they can't shoot it that's why they changed it ,making one of his hand intact .But it was one of the main point of the plot .
And it's not impossible to show the ml having no hands ,it's just challenging to do for a drama team and new gen actor's .That's why I said that they can't film it. Also there was another way ,where they could have just show that he has both of his hands but both hand get paralyzed .There was a part of the novel where entertainment industry made a movie on main leads story (the ml was a writer so in the novel ,his story got an adaptation )where they showed the ml's hand being paralyzed as they can't film him not having both hands .
.And my main fear wasn't this but the episode number's because 70% of the novel was more focused on ml's struggle,pains ,there was romance but not like other romcom campus dramas and their most scenes was when they were kids but nowadays cdrama butchers most story because of their limitations and to make it typical romcom.
And i am only pointing my fear and disappointment . i am not asking other's to not watch it .

Gu mingxi lost his both hands in the novel ,that's why his life was more hard because he had to work with his legs which normal people does with their hands ,But these parts are hard and challenging to act/film and that's why they changed it and makes his one hand intact so that he can do his work with one hand and it is a big disappointment to me .Because that was the core of the story which makes him different from other children .But in the end he proved himself that despite not having two hands ,he can live well . Even if i let this point go ,the novel had so many plots ,can they able to show everything in 24 episodes or will they cut some parts ?
Why you have to adapt these kinds of stories which you can't film .I understand why many fans were disappointed .
You'll feel why am i overreacting when it just started filming .Well cdrama has history of butchering good plots ,ignores main plot and make it typical romcom ,so it's obvious i will be concern.And please don't come at me ,i am not hating the actors or not saying others to not watch the drama .I am only stating my thoughts .

In the novel even though the sml liked He Yan but it wasn't heavy,he kept his boundary all the time and only one time he confessed and after getting rejected by her,he backed out which is the reason many readers doesn't even count it as a triangle .But according to some Reuters it looks like they are going to drag the triangle.
i saw many adaptation where they made it annoying triangle even if the triangle wasn't deep in the novel .
