It was just to see what the DJS response would be. As SZ has been sheltered her whole life. They wanted reassurance that SZ would be in the righthand.

SZ parents have very high regards towards DJS. As they know his family history, and how hard his life has been.

The drama is portraiting SZ as
being spoiled and very sheltered character. Not only does mum and dad shelter her, also her brother. His way of coaxing her is by giving her sweets. So she does act a little younger then at age at times. But as the story progress you will see that SZ is very muture in her thinking.

At this stage of the story, DJS only cares for her abd sees her as a little sister. You will find out the reason behind it in the later part of the drama. It's not till later when she is in uni and they reunited again in his homwtown does he develop romantic feelings for her.

Her relationship with her brother is so funny and enduring. How much her brother loves/hates her.
