Title Flower of Evil Spoiler
Also, on a side note, am I the only one low-key disappointed by Hyun Soo. This drama spent so much time successfully…
Can't agree more. Second last ep was a bust. They took it from a typical k drama book with all those theatrics and him going in to take that bullet lol Also, we are all sure that nobody important is actually gonna end up dead in the show. So watch him chill with his fam in the next episode.

I still loved the show but it would have been so much better and satisfying if he dropped the knife himself and made that choice. But then again, the poor guy's been through the wringer so I'll cut him some slack. It was kinda always implied that the darkness is there with him and she is the one who makes it go away so they just went with that line. Plus he still wasn't sure if she's just his imagination or real but was still inclined to not kill the guy so i guess that gives him brownie points?

Still, if he actually killed him or actually got killed. Hell even if his sister got killed, I'd say the show has some guts but so far a big NOPE. Very Vanilla. I love it but yeah, it's vanilla.

Ohhh, really well put into words. Even though I totally agree with you, I wasn't so harsh with my rating ? But…

True, historical dramas are a big commitment.

Hahah I don't really think I am ever gonna watch the movie though. XD But if I do, I'll let you know ^-^

Can't agree with you more. I actually only watch Chinese historicals because they are the ones focused on all the badass women and actually great MLs. Most modern dramas just promote toxic 'idealistic' body images, a way a 'good girl' should behave and patriarchal values that I cba with.

YES THANKYOU. SAY THIS LOUDER. Also how can you even call a drama 'objectively great' when every person's opinion and the lens they use to watch dramas is already so subjective. I can't lmao

Yes, I was wondering about the high rating, too and thinking about writing a review, until I saw yours. The movie…
Thankyou for reading and leaving such a well thought out response. It's a show without substance, a fluffy time-pass with no conflict and zero character development and I don't think it promises anything other than that either. I get that now. This is a very passionate review. Clearly depicts all my frustration with it at the time. But now, in hindsight, I realize that this was what it offered in the first place and those that wanted it for just that, they enjoyed and for others it wasn't the right drama. Like me.

I do, however get lowkey annoyed at the people who constantly try to tell me in comments and DMs how it was an objectively great drama on all fronts and something I didn't pay attention to and that's the only reason why I didn't like it. Because that's clearly not true. And that fansplaining is what I am just not here for lmao

I personally think this drama is really good but I understand your point of view. However, I think that it's good…
Yeah it totally depends on tastes and drama timing. I am glad you enjoyed it tho, that's all that matters :D

I guess you didn't pay much attention while watching it! That you ended up trash talking about it .
Nah, I'm pretty sure I did. It was trash for me and that's that. If you liked the show, good for you. We all have our own opinions ♡

Amazing review for an amazing show❤ I just finished watching and I'm wondering if the original is this good??
Tbh I didn't watch the original till the end. Just a few episodes. Personally felt like the Korean version was far better in every way.

Excellent review (which is literally a surprise to no one). It was so well written and I read it till the very end. Unfortunately, I can't say the same about the show. After the first 10 episodes, it felt much of the same thing to me when it comes to wuxias and the politics (that I usually enjoy) were incredibly boring and ridiculous that even Li Qin's badassery couldn't save this plot for me.

Which is why I dropped it at episode 13 and judging from your review, the plot only worsens, so maybe I saved my self.

If the show was half as nicely written and entertaining as this review, I might have powered through but right now? No XD

Well, you seems to be the perfect person here whom I can believe to get an honest answer to my question. What do…
Actually, in my opinion, this was by far Kim Soo Hyun's best work. Usually, I don't get a lot from him and I do find him to be too pretty, superficial and detached from his characters but he SLAYED his role here. Especially towards the last few episodes, he was very expressive. Did an excellent job of conveying the emotion. So, no I think Kim Soo Hyun held his own here.

Editorials ARE articles with the author's opinions tho? And the use of first person singular is perfectly acceptable. Instead of leaving an unasked for long ass review on the way this article was written, you'd be better off spending that time writing your own article.

If you mean to be helpful, dm them about the pointers. Otherwise, no need to leave irrelevant writing lessons that undermine someone's hard work and effort.
