As an actor you have a choice to portray the character differently. There is no such thing as one mode to act cute. I doubt all the directors that hire her portray the same cute character. There should also be the actor trying to change things up a bit. You can see in interviews of other Chinese actors explaining their character and how they decide to interpretate it because at the end of the day the job of an actor is to portray a character. I really doubt all her roles will be the same, they do have different personalities and jobs. It's the actors job to know how to make them different and that's what gets them to be noticed in the media. The way they can change even if it's the same type of character.
Okay no, it's too much for me. ZBB character too I don't like it, idk if he is doing dubbing but the deep voice is too much for me. The FL character is too childish for me. I can't imagine someone actually pretending to be crying in a door only for the ML to look bad and accept some grapes. Finally watching, I think the drama is "cute" I can understand where it's going but Esther Yu acting needs to change a bit. I know the character is meant to be cute, sweet and all of that which is Esther Yu in a nutshell but you can change them a bit you know. You don't have to be the same cute character with a different name. I feel like it could've been different. I feel like Esther Yu can try and vary her cute characters in different kind of acting and levels. But for me that I've watched the dramas that Esther Yu acts cute it feels the same. In Hye is very annoying at times. She makes herself the victim but is the least one with problems. Every convo she has with her friend she always makes reference that herlife as being poor is so much worse when it doesn't even fit the convo.
