I loved him in the king and the clown, he portrayed his part extremely well..My first lee joon gi drama was scholar who walks the night, loved it but according to me Gong Gil is his best character till date.

I got that part where he was the only one to understand the king's suffering but there was a scene where the king kisses him - I meant that part , may be since he was the only one who understood the king, the king wanted to keep him in the palace without even taking his choice into consideration. I loved the part where gong gil's friends were leaving and he was not leaving the palace because of the traumatized king. A great theme and a great story told in a great way as opposed to the normal common romantic themes..

no gay stuff? what about the king's lust for the boy? and whats wrong with gay stuff being portrayed? it had always existed then and now as well. They have told an excellent story with a strong theme.And yes it is completely once own interpretation regarding gong gil and jang seng's relation...I believe there was some untold bond beyond friendship between the two..
