The second couple (actors Pap and Pep) had SOOOO much more chemistry than the main couple.
The two high schoolers came of as friends: I believed they loved eachother as brothers, nothing else.
The second couple, with the longing looks, unspoken words, and brief touches, screamed dangerous romance. They should have been the main couple.
We could have seen them together in school. Name making bad choices and becoming a criminal and ended with a special episode that fast forwarded so we could see them together. That's the series I want to see!
He sure is jealous of Mew. No idea why he is so much into Top, though. Does he want the top guy to prove something?…
I thinks he needs people to want to sleep with him to feel validated. I don't think he has anything against Mew: he needs feel that he is the most desired. I don't think he wants Top: he wants Top to want him.
It comes from a lack of self esteem. He cares about his friends, but his need for validation trumps everything else. He probably doesn't see what he's doing as wrong: he'll convince himself that: 1. Either Mew and Ray really do have something going on 2. Or Top is not trustworthy so bad for Mew and so he'll be convince his actions were justified.
To those people moaning about it in the comments: this series was a pioneer. It established many of the BL tropes that we have today.
It's not refined, it's not polished, it's not very slick. Comparing it to newer BLs is like comparing a horse drawn cart to a car. The car may be better in many ways, but the cart has it's nostalgic charm. Moreover the car wouldn't exist without the horse and cart!
So my opinions on who could play the leads. Hopefully we get two series as there are two books.
There is an 8 year gap between the end of book 1 & the start of book 2: so we either need two sets of actors, or actors who can play both late teens and mid 20s convicingly.
I think actors in their mid 20s playing younger and older versions would be best because: 1. Gu Hai and BYL are both describe as being in "peak" condition at 18 years old. 2. The subjects in the series are complex.
Accepting that MaxTul and MileApo are probably too old... and assuming these actors were free to take the roles, these are my choices.
Gu Hai: is tall, agressive, stuborn, physically intimidating, intense, playful, charming and manipulative. - Top choice: Billy P Ounsa-ard (29): he was very physical, intense, playful and manipulative as Nuea in 'Secret crush on you'. Other suggestions: - Boat Anakame Binsaman (age unknown): he was super intense as M in 'I am your king'. He would need to muscle up though. - Bright V Chivaaree (25): he had the intensity and playfulness nailed as Sarawat in '2gether'. Question is whether he can commit to the physical intimacy needed for the role. - Gun Nakharin Phanwong (25): played a high schooler convicingly in 'Siew Sum Noi' and definately has the physical pressence. I'm not sure he could convey the emotional side of Gu Hai as well.
BLY: is strong willed, principled, intelligent, loyal, moody, lonely, and secretly soft. - Top choice: Fluke Gawin Caskey (25): nailed moody, lonely and strong willed as Mork in Dark Blue Kiss. His acting has really imrpoved as seen in 'Be my favourite'. Other suggestions: - Boss T Ngamkamolchai (29): as Koa in 'Oxygen', played a much younger character convincingly and conveyed a full range of emotions.

But the characters they play should: it's intergral to the plot.
I do not understand why they have hired a child for an adaptation of an 18+ book.
Without the 18+ scenes, it's a bad adaptation.
With the 18+ scenes but with a 16 year old, it's horrifying.
Either way, I'll not be watching.
The first power he absorbed, was from his mum: he knows when people lie.
He has absorbed lots of powers.
Once he's formed a connection, he can control how much of the power he takes. He can also give it back (in the books).
