It's literally awkward that after waking up from a dream, you will start looking for your lover in this modern world when where you met him was in another century, so whether censorship or not, the ending made sense... not open not sad.

Drop it peacefully and go whatever pleases you and refrain from commenting negatively. The is too sweet for you to spoil other people interest in it.
If you're thinking of dropping this drama like someone would say, DON'T!!!. This drama here is one of those rare xinxia with beautiful casts and brilliant acting performance.
Here are the many things I like about WDBTD; 1. The absolute fact that many people in this drama misunderstood that our ML is a demon which he's not. His bloodline happens to be the supplying power of the spiritual energy the sect leaders and members are acquiring while they train. This misunderstanding created fears amongst them while they themselves were not innocent of the tragic end of our Ml's clan. I enjoyed how powerful he was, for someone who's a cultivator buh was sealed for 500 years in a secluded place...I feel personally his powers compensated the feeling of losing one's family and clan before he even turned a year old. His power came with perks that are amusingly interesting. All the things he did to satisfy his lil disciple's quest, all the foreign words she used and mentioned...he did all for her. He was the centre of this drama. And for someone who didn't grow up with his mother's care and love, he turned out to be a romantic and gentle cultivator partner to our FL. I personally feel his maturity was top notch for a flaming Phoenix as him. I could go on and on and on to tell you , who's contemplating to watch this masterpiece all the beautiful things you're missing because not for once did he stop loving our FL.
2. Our FL. She has to be the best actress to portray what it is like to be a new place and have no power or spiritual energy and tried to leech to the ML. No she wasn't like those too very stupid FL that don't know anything. When she discovered the world she's in, making friends and family wasn't sth easy... at first she was afraid of our ML and of course she had to. She saw him as domineering as ever buh lil did she know, he could anything for her because she taught him what it's like to have a cultivator partner whom could share his woes and wails. She was mature for someone who transmigrated. Do you know why?
She didn't refuse herself from loving him and she naturally understood him and she was able to interpret what it meant to be emphatic. She reciprocated just the way we, the true fans had wanted. She still fell in love with him, even when her memories were forcefully wiped out by that evil sect leader. I love her inner thoughts and her funny facial expressions...she brought fun and life to his boring world. They both did a lot for each other buh hers was more because she is a fish frost who was left to live lonely for nineteen years... nineteen years without her lover and I felt her emptiness.
Just know that a lot of things and stuff are hidden here... don't miss it because you fetl the rating is hyped or people are hyping it.
The ending was very satisfying because I don't know how that scene would have been any different when it was all a dream. It would have actually been awkward given that he was a person whom she had to deliver her project to in the modern world... Nevertheless, our ML did recognize her buh as always he would like to tease her...so she was teased at the end.
Many had this complaint of how he quickly switched from hating her to loving her in the mortal realm, like what can ever be done to satisfy guys...like really?...they both already had this mutual connection that doesn't need them to explain it to us buh we to understand them, given the life and tribulation they two have undergone. So it only makes sense that, they didn't need to explain it to us and for us to watch and understand.
Do you want to miss all the hot kissing scene that we're never awkward?... just because of a sad ending that might not necessarily feel like that to you... I watched all the kiss scenes with opened eyes... something I don't usually do.
Arthur Chen has won my heart harder...I loved him from L&P and this and more.
Kudos to the other casts and the production team. Nothing was odd and everything was okay, from makeup to the steam that was almost everywhere.
This drama promoted itself not us because this drama knows it worth. It's worth every episode.

I don't know you buh you're missing sth you would return to later in the future and start having this feeling of regret why you didn't watch it while it was airing.Don't drop it, watch it when you're back...a film critic like me is giving you a sure guarantee that you wouldn't hate it buh come back here to ask why you didn't know earlier how interesting it was.

I specifically opened this app again to check for negative comments and know why you guys can't for once appreciate the performance of what you can't do.
so far, where I am now, nothing like what I expected has happened. Everything happening is different and you know it...buh like always, you just want to complain.
well, it had to be so coming from her own POV...we also saw the guy's POV and he too was interested in her and that's why he accommodated her excesses by going back to befriending her after school life.
i don't know what's your take away in a romantic drama like such as this but you see, I'm learning how to be a film critic and from my insight, the story line centered on a girl who haven't had her crushes responded back to her like this guy, making her hard in her determination to getting him herself. we got to see that from the guy's POV, he too was making efforts and observing her making it look like it was all coincidence whereas we the audience know it was intentional. in all, everyone had a story to tell.
