I started this drama yesterday and it is really good. I like it. It's first time i see the ML and FL and they are so good... Can't wait for next episodes
In fact, I see both versions of the ending in “Love Beyond The Grave” as happy endings.
Ending 1: After Duan Xu dies, he enters the world that separates life and death: he who has a premonition turns into a ghost (soul) — he who dies without a premonition either ascends to heaven or struggles in that interval and manages to survive like Duan Xu and turns into a lantern that can be reincarnated later, after a hundred years. In the end, we see that Duan Xu remained by her side in the form of a spiritual ghost (jellyfish) all the time, waiting for him to be reincarnated, while Simu completely abandoned the position of mistress of spirits, and returned to being only herself, waiting for him calmly and reassuredly. I loved this ending! Finally, she no longer had to bear the burden of that position, as if she was an employee who had finally retired! She can live freely, and waiting for her lover to return will not be painful, but full of certainty of meeting.
Second Ending: The original ending of the novel Through the intervention of fate (the immortal ZJ), Duan Xu is saved, and Simu's wish to become an ordinary person is fulfilled (she loses her position and...Her transformation into a human was the price of Duan Xu's life. They live a simple life together, sharing the details of the days and seasons. And I loved this ending too! Because it fulfills Simo's true desire to live as a human. After four hundred years, she did not long for immortality or power, but to be a person who felt the small details of life. Without the conflicts of the spirit world, without the anxiety of separation, just an ordinary life full of warmth... and this is true completion.
Two different endings, but both are complete in their own way, and both center around the heroine and respect the taste and desire of the audience without compromising logic. At this point, I don't want to say traditional promotional phrases, I just feel like my heart is full. The series did not try to impose a perfect ending that erases all regrets, nor did it rely on exaggeration to create feelings. Rather, it simply told a story: How can a person living in a dull world learn again, thanks to another person, how to feel the wind, the warmth, and the difficulty of separation.
I will miss our Foxy and Simu, an outstanding acting especially Dilraba and Arthur, an amazing chemistry, a breathtaking cinematography, outfits and decor.. The last episodes where too sad and heartbreaking but it was a great pleasure for me to watch them. It deserves more than 8.2 Now, time for rewatching it ..

Yes that what i thought. There is no excuse to leave him like that. Poor Duan Xu ... it was a heartbreaking to see him running after her then collapsed.
The end of episode 35 was somewhat ambiguous for me 🤨, why Simu ended things with Duan Xu and left him like that? !! I don't understand her decision to leave him in this critical state?
I really like Arthur Chen, his acting is very good and he is amongst my favourite actors but i felt like the ML in this drama fits more the actor Wu lei he would have portrayed it so well what do you think?!
