This was such an amazing watch, but the last episode was pretty disappointing in comparison. They crammed way too much into the plot, and it felt super rushed. The whole Jinda group storyline was tied up messily and I wouldāve liked at least 1 more ep of them properly establishing their collaboration (??) with Yan Studio.
Also, where did HC even go? He literally disappeared, and we never saw him fully recover from the trauma he experienced. One of my favorite aspects of LA was his relationship with XY. It was so heartwarming to see her grow on him and eventually claim him as her son. So why didnāt he move in with her and HM? Why wasnāt HC given a proper ending? They could have easily included even one scene showing that heās doing better now, even if it realistically would take a long time for him to fully heal. On top of that, Feng Lei bringing up that HC isnāt biologically related to HM made no sense at that point. It didnāt lead anywhere and added nothing to the plot, besides HM and XY making it clear that they love him regardless.
And why did they randomly show LT? I donāt even care about QL and YYM, but that low-budget clip of them getting married is as so random. As if that wasnāt enough, Feng Lei and that lawyer getting screen time in the finale felt completely unnecessary. Shouldāve given the HMās slay mom another scene instead.
And the fact that XYās parents still didnāt acknowledge how badly they treated her as a child, yet XY is in contact with them.. well.
Still gonna give this a 9/10 cause I was truly invested.
Ep 30: XYās parents showing up is making me miss her fake parents. They were such a good trio. I wish they stayed in contact even after the truth came out lol
Not done with ep 29 yet but damn this whole HC plot is making me so sadš His crash out is so valid and the fact that heās not even related to the family at all (cause come on we all know that paternity test is fake and HMās ex had HC with another man) is so devastating. His childhood and relationship with his family just improved and now heās being confronted with this BS.
This was such an amazing watch. Great acting, chemistry, storytelling and writing. Some parts of the story couldāve been executed better and the ending is a bit lacking (or more so feels like a set up for a 2nd part lol) but overall this is the best short drama Iāve watched so far. I enjoyed this through and through. This deserved to be a full length drama and I would like to see the leads act together again in the future.
