Typical Song Zu Er. Mouth wide open like she's brain-dead in every scene, same blank look on her face as in every drama she "acts" in.
Plot looks epic, but it needed another lead actress. Will be avoiding everything she's in from now on after this and that disaster that was The Demon Hunter's Romance. I cannot stand her.

Because she can't act. Watched her in Fangs of Fortune, Mysterious Lotus Casebook and Love Game in Eastern Fantasy. She has the same blank face when she's not overacting in all 3. She'll be a skip drama for me the next time her name shows up in the cast.
This is great, but every time I see Chen Du Ling in a drama I realize she cannot act. In this one she's like nails on a chalkboard. Wish they hadn't added the character too. Was great with just the two male leads.
I dropped it at episode 18. Half the cast can't act. What's with Li Hong Yi? His face literally doesn't move for 18 episodes and his go-to expression is 'sullen and dull'. Throw in Ao Rui Peng couldn't act his way out of a paper bag so I'll avoid anything he's in from now on, and that spear chick is the most annoying of them all, and the whole thing is nerve-grating.
Like you said writing has dragged out what should have been a 24 episode drama to 40, so half of every episode is a draggy drag drag of talk, talk, talk explaining what we've all just watched 5 minutes previous.
The rating on MDL for this is laughable, but it's probably due to fangirls rating their favorite talentless actor :) What a joke.

Nothing about her looks. She's pretty. But a director should have told her years ago "Close your mouth". It makes her look like her brain isn't connected.

Just dropped it because of the FL. The character is a fool and SZE can't seem to close her mouth as she stands with it vacantly-open in every scene, making her look like an imbecile. Had high expectations for this one but ... nah!
Wanted to love this so much as big fan of Allen Ren but it's a drop after Episode 11.
